@amazingangel: Although she wasn't much of a fighter the thrill-seeker side to her relished the opportunity to compete in the infamous KOV tournament and she was fairly confident in herself and her unique set of skills, abilities and illusionary power to overcome fellow competitors. Due to her special ability to create completely lifelike three-dimensional, audio-visual (AV) illusions of no actual substance she had gained the quite fitting moniker of 'The Paper Tiger', referring to something that appears threatening but is ineffectual.

Wearing a rather contrasting outfit composed of her trademark beige trench-coat, reminiscent of a classic 1940's femme fatale, along with a conversely futuristic black bodysuit underneath it the espionage mercenary, basically a spy for hire, known as The Charlatan exited from the other-side of the portal into what seemed to be a laser-tag arena's maze. Despite the unusual choice of battleground The Charlatan quickly acknowledged that the venue of the fight could serve her well with its low-light conditions, various hiding spots to ambush her as-of-yet unknown quarry and many distractions to take advantage of.

Soon enough she realized she also had additional items she didn't have before entering the portal, a laser tag vest as well as a laser gun. Generally she maintained something of a stern and emotionless facial expression, however, if only momentarily a somewhat amused and curious look appeared on her face as The Charlatan briefly inspected the laser gun, pressing it's trigger to fire it which was accompanied by an electronic laser sound-effect.

The fleeting amusement with the toy laser gun eventually ended with her casually tossing it to the ground in favour of her own very real signature weapon, a so-called 'phaser gun' which ironically enough somewhat resembled the discarded laser gun. Retrieving her high-tech side-arm from its hip holster she activated it, previously appearing to be little more than some kind of pistol grip with the mere push of a button the futuristic side-arm assembled itself, forming its barrel, trigger and trigger guard. Primed and ready for action The Charlatan armed her phaser gun and selected its lowest setting, a light stun as she preferred to incapacitate threats over killing them, she prepared to find and take down her target. Stalking through the luminous laser-tag maze with cautious and precise movements and her side-arm firmly grasped in both of her hands, her eyes darted back and forth as she searched for her opponent.

As she approached a corner within the maze she heard the ominous sound of footsteps coming closer and closer, prompting her to quickly hide herself in a poorly lit area nearby and ready her phaser. Using her illusionary powers she swiftly blended in with her background, similar to a chameleon, with enough detail to effectively become invisible to the naked eye. Still waiting to see who ever it was coming around the corner her adrenalin began to slowly but steadily pump through her system at the prospect of the confrontation with her still unknown adversary. A former trained special government operative before she become a freelance operative for her own selfish purposes she was thoroughly experienced and professional in potentially volatile situations and used to maintaining her composure regardless of the circumstances.

The source of the approaching footfalls revealed themselves to be just a teenage boy instead of her anticipated foe, completely unaware of her presence he rushed by the still camouflaged Charlatan looking for his adversary as she continued to do so in kind.
