From the atmosphere came a spark of light. This light transformed into a white blaze of flame. This flame took the form of a human body as it soared through the city streets. A quick dash to the right folled by a corkscrew spin through a rusted gate and the fiery figure gained flesh and bone. As the skin finished reatteaching and his clothes restored The Guard smiled studying his surroundings. His eyes held a vicious lust for battle, and as he activated his Mangekyou Sharingan the intensity spiked up, All the rest of his body was silhouetted by a large black robe with red clouds painted along it. James hair was laying carelessly across his head, short locks dangled in front of his face before he used his two finger to part them.
The rusty gate had now been reduced to ash. The ash itself, glowing gold, held some special property. Pulling a jar from a sack strapped to his outer thigh James grasped a sample of the ash in his hand and found it to be extremely cold. Quickly storing it in the jar he returned to his analysis. Standing in what looked like an abandoned work site James began setting thing up. Mines placed in key locations as well as aerial tripwire that sets off a variety of traps and attacks. His opponent, Hawk, hero turned rogue warrior, recently suffered a death in the family. James saw this as an opportunity to make an example out of one of the Legends, whose reign had been allowed for too long. With most lacking the ambition or raw intellect to step up to the plate of such a demanding challenge The Guard was alone in his efforts. Mistakes were not an option for the impassive villain.
To torment the hero he continually stalked him. Revealing his appearance subtlely allowed Hawk to be aware of The Guard's presence whilst keeping his identity veiled. The constant tailgating was an effort to take Hawk out of it mentally. Creating paranoia was only the beginning. The Guard continued to follow him, only this time he would create noise. This noise resembled the voice of the rogue's wife who was lost to him. The mind games he played were all carefully calculated steps that would hopefully result in the demise of the target. In the finale, The Guard invaded his home, placing a dead woman's body who held a distinct likeness to that of his wife. A note was pined to her naked, pale corpse.
"The following are coordinates to the location I will be at tommorrow evening. Are you brave enough to come face your nightmares?"
Peering up into the night sky the moon's bedazzling glaze bearing down upon the civilians of the City. The clouds were scarce and stars were plentifully. These small speckles of light came together to further illuminate the night. The wind blew strong and held a harsh cold bite as it grazed passed The Guard's exposed skin. The city was quiet, as if waiting for some uproar to awaken it. No one walked the streets this night. Not even the homeless were seen and if not for the street lights the city would seem dirty like a ghost town. The building themselves were on the verge of collapse and those who rest their heads inside such facilities were destined to be killed by their homes. The cars that lay along the curbs were riddled with rust and the paint jobs had all but washed away. The stench of factory smug filled the air and with every inhalation one feels as if they're smoking a cigarette. The plight the citizens faced was one of diesease and death. Had this been another time James would have used his weight to bring this city up to livable standards but at this time in place this city deserved nothing more than to be the battleground for the two men who would soon engage in a battle that would shake the very fabric of society.
James acute hearing sensed a change in the wind and as he began to feel all the beings that flew through the sky he spotted one in particular, heavier than a bird but lighter than a plane floating along the winds to the southeast. Hawk was approaching. With a smile The Guard checked his gear, pulling his Kusanagi from his sheath he glanced at its sharpness before concealing it. Brandishing two Desert Eagles he placed them behind his back allowing them to levitate as he stood hands at his side hidden within the wide sleeves of his robe.
"So glad you could make it, Hawk."
