Marcellus Essex, now Julius Basquait, got a surprising phone call from his uncle, Yashima Essex. His brother, Jimi, is alive. The news turns sour when Yashima mentions the Yakuza clan boss, Hatso Kanamaru is containing Jimi. Turns out, Yashima brought Jimi back to life with the Yakuza's black market service. He worked exclusively with Hatso Kanamaru.
Hatso is the leader of the classic Ginzu Tiger clan one of the five principal Yakuza clans. Dealing meth in Tokyo through his prostitutes and clan members. He also smuggles obscure drugs for searching clients. Yashima needed the Gingaram drug to break Jimi out of his coma. Hatso provided the drug, but made Yashima operate on Jimi in his estate. Jimi awoke revealing his powers; this impressed Hatso and he threw Yashima out his house at gunpoint, snipers and all.
