Year 2028
The smell of burnt flesh lingered in the hot air, a girl with short black hair smiled, her teeth glimmering in the dim light as a chuckle escaped from her lips. She was standing over something that was now charcoal black from top to bottom, if someone didn’t know it was a person before, they would have never guessed by looking at the corps now.
“Did you really think you could try and betray me like that, Cover?” The girls familiar red eyes focused on the burned corps that had a couple of kunai sticking out of its back. “The one time you find out how to think for yourself, and look where it gets you.” She then sat down on the body, snapping could be heard as the body’s arm fell off and its back cracked. “Goes to show you how stupid humans really are.”
Just then, a ring raced through the air from her back pocket. “This better be important, I’m having a private conversation with someone.” Her cell phone flipped open and now standing on top of the body.
“Yes Lady Hotaru, I think… I think we found where The Wanderer is hidden at, as well as his followers.” A female voice could be heard from the other side of the phone.
A crooked smile traced across her face . “And how about the where about of my dear bother?”
“Um… sorry Lady Hotaru, we haven’t found him yet. Every time we find a lead, it turns out to have already gone cold in only a few minutes.”
“I see… send me the coordinates for our dear Wanderers location, and do not stop looking for my brother, I want him found and alive. I need something from him.” Finishing talking she flipped the phone closed once more as she began to walk out of the ally way she was in.
The city around her she was in was gloomy, thick smog lingered as most buildings were in ruins. This city, the city of Los Angeles had been abandon for the past five years after the young Uchiha Hotaru turned on the hero team, We Are Legend.
Year 2017
A late teenage girl stood before Uchiha NeVann, her head bowed down as her black hair covered her face. Her red and black armor hug onto her body as she then looked back up at him. Her eyes a deep green and her skin tanned from training all day in the sun.
Today was the day that Hotaru had finished her ninja training with her father. For the past seven years she had trained with NeVann to only do one thing, become the best ninja in the world. Today was the first day she actually felt that, the years of sacrifice and training had come to an end as well as for her twin brother, Sozuko. But, to make sure that each child had enough training time, NeVann decided to train them separately the past five years. While one child was with him, the other would be with Feral Nova, learning how to control their fire power.
“Well Hotaru.” Her father spoke, a small smile broke on his face as he kept his arms crossed. “Today, was your last day of training, I have nothing left to teach you. The only thing for you to do now, is to go off and train on your own, and to try and create techniques of your own.”
Bowing down once more Hotaru clapped her hands together and lowered her head. “Thank you father, I will not disappoint you.”
“I know you wont princess.” He said as he placed his hand on her shoulder.
The next day, after her final training session with her mother, Feral Nova, Hotaru decided to go off and do what her father said, train on her own for the next three years. She wanted to see how she could develop her skills by herself and with other people. With the blessing of both parents and her family at WAL, Hotaru went off on her own for the first time, and away from her brother, Sozuko.
What her parents didn’t know, would be their undoing.
For the past three years, Hotaru got back in touch with an old family member, one that Nova and NeVann had forgotten about, Aztek the lost. When Hotaru was younger and more innocent, she went off to find her ‘Tio Aztek’ to see if he would help her continuing her training. What she didn’t know, was that he would use his powers to corrupt her mind and us her to do his bidding.
2020
An entire 3 years rolled by as the now twenty-one year old young woman came back to Los Angeles and to the WAL HQ. Being welcomed with open arms the girl seemed… more distant than before. The once energetic, happy, innocent girl seemed to have disappeared and was now replaced by a whole other person. This girl, was more quite, very observant, and never showed emotion. Not only was Hotaru’s personality different, but so was the way she looked. Her once dark brown hair seemed to have turned jet black, her green eyes which seemed to have lives of their own, now seemed dead as her tan also faded away, leaving her with a pasty pail look.
Not sure what happened and wanting to know what caused this change, NeVann took her on a camping trip over in Japan for a weekend, to try and catch up with her daughter. What he didn’t know, was that the daughter he once knew was now dead.
Alone in the camping trip, Hotaru managed to convince NeVann to go into a ‘Father Daughter spar’ to show him just how powerful she had become in the three years time. The spar began slowly, exchanging small blows and tossing kunai’s around. Then the battle became more intense. The two then turned on their sharingan, using it on each other as the two began to unleash powerful jutsu’s upon the land.
Their battle continued like this until Sunday morning. The two now exhausted and weak, and NeVann still holding back. Hotaru knew he was holding back, and this angered her. Why was he holding back? His very life depended on his skills as a Ninja and he refused to use his deadly attacks on her, why? Declaring him as weak and unfitting to be a ninja, Hotaru then used the power that Aztek gave her, the power to have the Death Touch.
This attack uses the perfect control of chakura, and a lot of it, leaving the user weak and vulnerable after using it. With a smirk she flicked her right hand up, and a eerie black glow could be seen coming from her hand. Not waisting time, she then concentrated on the burning sensation inside her, her power she was waiting to use for the last possible moment, fire.
Taking a deep breath she then threw her left hand up, her entire body burst into blinding white flames, causing NeVann to turn his head for a split second, and with that second, she took to her advantage. Bursting into a sprint she made it right behind NeVann and thrust her glowing hand at the back of his head, only to have him grab her by the midsection of his arm, his skin blistering from the fire that covered her body. Holding back the urge to scream in pain NeVann did his best to hold her arm away, but it was only a matter of time before the flames became to intense for him.
As soon as her hand touched his skin, his soul was sucked up into her own body and his body fell lifeless the ground. Scooping up the body of her fallen father, she began to slowly make her way back to Los Angeles, to show her mother and the rest of WAL what had happened.
Lying threw her teeth, Hotaru told Stephanie that the two were attacked by a near by village who claimed that the two WAL ninjas were trespassing their land, and attacked the two with no mercy. While in the battle, she clamed that NeVann sacrificed himself to save her. While her mother accepted the story, other members of the team, were not so sure about the false tale.
2021
After the death of her father, Feral Nvoa fell into a deep depression and stopped teaching Young WAL, and participating in missions, only doing paper work and doing anything that required her attention as a leader. For an entire year, this dragged on. While others tried to help her and talk to the older fire goddess, Hotaru simply stood from afar, seeming to almost study her mother. Until one day, she decided to put her mother out of her misery.
The day was busy, WAL members ran all around the Untied States on missions while only a couple of members stayed behind to help Stephanie with paper work and teach the Young WAL children. Hotaru was one of the members who stayed behind, to set her plan in motions for her broken mother. While Stephanie was doing paper work on the last team mission, the rouge WAL ninja made her way down to the kitchen. While humming a tune, Mr. French, the team butler, was mixing the batter for her mothers chocolate chip cookies. As soon as the elderly helper walked out of the area to get a ringing phone, Hotaru slipped in a yellow liquid inside the batter, the juice from berries of a daphne plant, the juices from it.
As soon as the cookies were finished, Hotaru took the cookies to her mother, freshly made so that the poison was still at its peak and presented them to Feral Nova. It only took a few minutes for the poison to course through the now older heroes body and upon her last minutes of life, Hotaru began to explain what really happened to NeVann, and her plans on taking down WAL.
A week later, after the funeral for Feral Nova, Obi and a couple of other WAL members began to look over the memory chip that Stephanie had implanted inside her from when she first joined with WAL. While going through her last moments of life, they found out what Hotaru was up to, and how she was responsible for the death of both NeVann and Nova.
As Obi went to go get her, the ninja girl already took off, leaving the city. But before she left, she managed to take Feral Nova’s swords both, The Honoo Tachi and the Nova Blade. Not only did she take her mothers things, but also items that belonged to NeVann, such as his Yakamoshi Katana.
2022
Nothing was heard from Hotaru again, not until one full year later. This time, Hotaru sent WAL a message, telling them to meet her in Japan for an all out battle. She was determined to kill off the rest of WAL, while WAL was ready to kill her off. The entire team made it over to the location in which Hotaru told them to go. As they stood and waited for the battle to begin, they soon found out that Hotaru made some friends over the year she was gone. Joining her side were a couple of old ‘friends’. Poison Ninja, a woman from the dissembled team The Hand stood by Hotaru’s side, while the stealthy Homicide stood on the other side of Hotaru. The three woman stood tall with each other as they watched WAL lined up for the fight.
As soon as the fight started, Hotaru knew that she was either going to be killed, or send WAL in a run for their lives, and the rouge ninja wasn’t ready to die just yet. The battle went on for days, both sides holding up, but then things were changed when Hotaru shifted her focus from multiple WAL members to one, Obi Wan Kenobi. Using her fire clone jutsu she learned as a child, the seven clones watched Hotarus back as she went after her ‘Tio Obi’. Using his lightsabers, the two battled it out, the power of The Force against the deadly ninja. Just then, in the middle of their fight, Hotaru’s right hand began to glow, that black eerie glow that took care of NeVann, her death touch. Without knowing what that was, Obi attempted to block the attack with his own fist, only to make direct contact with the ninjas hand, and instantly, the Jedi masters body fell limp onto the ground. The rest of the WAL members suddenly stopped their assault and with wide eyes, stared at the fallen leader.
“Retreat!” A voice could be heard yelling from a distance.
Suddenly WAL began to run, but not without having to sacrifice more of their own. Before the team could escape, the three fighters with Hotarus clones, managed to capture Sherry, King Saturn and John Valentine, or more like, kill the three before they escaped.
Claiming victory over this battle Hotaru stood over her victums and held out her arms above her. Concentrating kept her eyes cloths as she used another gift that Aztek gave her, the ability to take ONE power or skill from a person SHE killed or she could take an item from the fallen and instantly become a master in using it. This was Aztek’s gift to Hotaru.
Shifting over to Sherry she then lowered her hands and had them hovering over her body, taking a deep breath, small swirl of purple energy came out from her abdomen and into the hands of Hotaru. Opening her eyes once more Hotaru smirked as she then thrust out her left arm at the fallen female hero, and instantly the body turned into a block of ice.
“Now I’ll be even with Sozuko.” She smirked as she moved over to John’s body. He too didn’t seem to have any weapon or item that would catch her interest, so she took one of his powers too, the power of accelerated healing. As soon as the power was in her body, her tissue, muscles, tendons, everything was slowly regenerating on its own, and quickly.
Moving onto the next fallen, she stood over King Saturn, he too didn’t seem to have much on him, so she took his power of immortality. However, this wasn’t the type of immortality she first thought. She couldn’t die from sickness, or old age, but she could still die in battle. A little disappointed in this power, she moved on to the Jedi.
Looking down at Obi’s body she smirked as she caught a gimps of the handle of his most famous lightsaber, The Equalizer. Reaching out, as soon as her fingers touched the handle bar, she imminently knew how to use it. Pulling it away from the corps she flipped it on and began to move it around her, twirling it in her hand as she spun in circles with the white beam creating a light around her. She stopped and looked back down at the saber with a smile. “I can get used to this…” she said as she turned it off and kept it firmly in her hands.
“Lady Hotaru.” Poison ninja asked walking up to her. “The others, what shall we do about them?”
Not bothering to look up she began to chuckle. “We hunt down the ‘legends’ and bring darkness into their light.”
2028
Kicking the old rusted door of the once legendary WAL HQ, Hotaru quickly made her way down to the basement. According to Homicide, the group was at one of the last places she would have ever looked… the WAL moon base that her father had just finished working on before she killed him. Moving down the dark steps of the dusted basement of the building, she lit up her body so she could see more less where she was going. The items down there seemed to have been untouched for years, even before Hotaru took over the base, but that didn’t mattered, what did was finding the one she wanted the most, The Wanderer.
Standing in front of the D.O.V.E teleporter she imputed the coordinates that were given, then the machine roared to life. Power was still on in the building and the teleporter could be heard warming up as a flickering of blue light seemed to come from the center of it, growing and becoming brighter.
The past four years, Hotaru managed to claim a couple of more lives, Precise; who she took his gift of geo-Kinesis, and Common; taking simple fighting styles she had yet to have knowledge of and now Cover, who was the spy for the rebels. Now having her gift of phasing.
A beep could be heard as the teleporter was now ready and without wasting time while pulling out The Equalizer in her right hand she jumped through the portal. One second she was WAL HQ and next she was standing inside the WAL Moon base. Filled with excitement she took a deep breath and yelled out.
“IZAAC!” her eyes changed from her dead green to the red of the sharingan. “COME HERE YOU HERO SCUM AND ACCEPT YOUR FATE!” She rushed in hunting down the magic man.
