In ancient Korea, there was a small province known as Nonsan.  In that village, a feudal system was in place.  The overlord of this land was known as Lord Kwanhyoung VII.  Descending from an ancient dynasty, his family had its heritage deeply rooted.  Along with his name came his title, his lands, and even his own personal army.  With such power, there would need to be great responsibility.  However, unlike his previous ancestors, Kwanhyoung VII was a cruel and ruthless tyrant.  He became known for his harsh, overbearing punishments.  Even though this man was so ruthless, his subjects looked up to him because he was a brilliant military tactician.  No matter how cruel he was, Lord Kwanhyoung VII had always kept his people safe.

Eventually, the Korean ruler took a wife.  Many months later, she conceived and brought forth a son.  The child was named Kwanhyoung IIX.  To this child, Kwanhyoung VII passed down his malice, his cruelty, and his will to conquer all.  Kwanhyoung IIX listend to the teachings of his father with all diligence.  However, something happened to the boy as he grew into a young man.  Around the time of his fifteenth birthday, he suddenly noticed that he was different than those around him.  In times of intense emotion, objects around the young prince would rise up off the ground.  Unknown at the time, Kwanhyoung IIX was actually a mutant; and the ability which manifested itself within him was the ability of telekinesis.  As he grew older, Kwanhyoung grew to control this ability extremely well.  By his twentieth birthday, he had achieved full power over his abilities.  By then, he was nearly unstoppable.

His father had made him the leader of the army of Nonsan.  Kwanhyoung IIX had mastered his abilities and used them freely on the battlefield.  For example, in the beginning of a battle, he would dismount from his horse and walk towards the opposing army.  When they would fire their arrows towards him, he would simply raise his hand and all the arrows would stop midair.  Then, by mastering his ability so well, Kwanhyoung IIX would then turn each and every arrow around, then send them crashing down upon the very men that fired them.  As time went on, the prideful young warrior began to see himself as a god.  He openly defiled the religious temples and flaunted his abilities wherever he went.  The populous feared him and began to believe that he really was a god.

Kwanhyoung IIX then did the unthinkable - he killed his very own mother and father and took the throne.  Like a mad man, Lord Kwanhyoung IIX appeared to be unstoppable.  Like his father before him, the young man became a ruthless tyrant.  Eventually, his was much worse than his father ever was.  During that time, several attempts were made on the life of Lord Kwanhyoung.  Each time, the attempts would fail.  Several members of the ruler's council grew troubled.  Their province was now in the hands of a mad man.  The people were suffering more than ever.  Something had to be done.  The religious men of the day tried to depower the tyrant, but were unsuccessful.  Therefore, the council turned to scorcery.  Because everything else had failed, they were desperate enough to turn to Dark Magic.

The council joined forces with a small group of scorcerers.  Together, they conjured forth a spell which would bind Kwanhyoung's abilities, rendering them useless.  In addition, it would put the one inflicted into a deep coma for the rest of their natural lives.  Like all enchantments, it came with a reversal.  Both the instructions of the spell and the reversal were written upon a scroll and sealed with, yet, another spell.  That spell would make it so that only a weilder of magic could touch the scroll.  When the user of magic touched the scroll, only then would its contents be revealed.  In essense, these men created a spell which would target a specific mutant, overpower his or her abilities, then kill them.

Sure enough, the spell worked.  Kwanhyoung IIX had his abilities diminished and was placed into a deep coma until his death.  After that, the enchanted scroll was kept.  The men responsible later created a secret society.  This group had in mind to eradicate all hostile mutants.  This also went for mutants which had to potential to become dangerous as well.  Throughout history, these individuals would pass on the traditions which made them so effective.  This underground society of scorcerers would later become known as the League of Purifiers.  This powerful group would endure forever.

Modern Day

Over the course of time, mutants have always had trouble existing.  Organizations were created to help further the training of mutants.  Some were made into elite groups of individuals who helped protect humanity, such as the X-Men.  Other groups, however, concentrated on the domination of mankind, such as the Brotherhood.  In these times, the League of Purifiers was still in existence.  It was learned that the leader of the Brotherhood was a mutant who went by the name of Magneto.  For many years, the League of Purifiers had been trying to locate Magneto's forces.  However, because Magneto remained off the grid, it became laborious for even a well-entranched underground society to keep track of.  However, the leader of the X-Men was much easier to locate.  His name was Professor Charles Xavier.

Xavier's apparent bond with Magneto was quite unnerving to the League.  Even though the X-Men completed many heroic feats which protected humanity, they still saw Xavier as an accompliss or even a possible threat.  Eventually, the time had come where they were ready to strike Xavier.  They figured that if they struck Xavier, they would neutralize a threat.  Therefore, something was done about it.  One night, several scorcerers infultrated the X-Mansion.  These cunning individuals had the appearance of assassins.  Taught in many forms of deadly combat, each scorcerer of the league was equally deadly as a warrior.  After infultrating the X-Mansion, they had finally located Xavier in his room.  Due to their telepathic blocks, Xavier was not able to detect them in time.  When Xavier finally realized what was going on, it was too late.  The lethal spell had been cast and his abilities were bound.  Without anyone knowing, Xavier fell into a deep coma.  The league had done their deed.

The next day, Scott Summers had noticed that the professor had not made an appearance at all.  Many of the students with telepathic abilities could not locate him at all.  When Scott found him, he did not know what to do.  All that was left was a piece of paper next to Xavier's bed.  On it was a message of warning.  It was telling them to not bother pursuing them.  Any mutants who would dare pursue would meet the same fate as the beloved Professor Xavier.  At the bottom of the note was the seal of the League of Purifiers.  The X-Men wanted to do something.  Of all people, Logan took the professor's predicament the hardest.  He kept blaming himself.  Over and over, he said that he should have heard the intruders and that he should have figured out some way to stop them.  The professor was put on life support and the X-Men held a meeting.  Something needed to be done.  The League of Purifiers had to be found in order to find something to help Xavier.  For this job, more would be needed.  No group of mutants would be able to do the job.  They needed help from a greater power.......
