Cosmic Geography
It is unknown exactly how this planet manages to be so close to everywhere else. What is known, however, is that it is the easiest planet in the known universe to find -- wherever you are, whether you're lost or specifically searching, Eeogiex always seems to show up on every map. Magic or some form of advanced technology has been suspected in creating this effect, but at this point, Eeogiex's ubiquity has been taken for granted. You need a place to stop and fuel up your ship, or a place to flee a persistent enemy? The friendly, neutral planet of Eeogiex always seems to be waiting with open arms.
The Port-Fleet of Eeogiex
A great deal of the reason Eeogiex thrives is because of its trade. Beside its omnipresent nature, the majority of the small planet's surface is taken up by a massive intergalactic port. This roams and winds between cities and structures, had multiple layers, and a seemingly endless variety of ships. Most of these are trading vessels, but there are plenty for sale as well. These endless, well-lit hangars also include several inns and eating places, giving hard-working folk a place to relax in between jobs.
The Ambassadorial Estates
Politics obviously play a large part in Eeogiex's ability to function. The Ambassadorial Estates are one of Eeogiex's many state-sized cities, where ambassadors and representatives from a massive myriad of planets gather to discuss trade necessities and, more importantly, peace negotiations. Obviously, it is this planet's neutrality that allows it to prosper, and thus treaties must often be renegotiated in order to keep order and safety on Eeogiex. Extradition is not practiced here, and the planet is considered a safe haven for all those who act peacefully inside its atmosphere.
The Infinite Marketplace
This is where you can go to find anything. And by anything, I mean anything. If someone sells it, someone sells it in the Infinite Marketplace... or the Flesh-Fair. Alien traders and merchants from far and wide set up shop here, some even creating permanent settlements off their home planet and creating routes with the ships of the Port-Fleet. This has its own residential areas as well, and is considered the planet's "middle-class" in contrast to the higher-echelon Estates.
The Flesh-Fair
Criminals seeking sanctuary, criminal enterprises, slave trading, prostitution, weapon distribution, and other less... savory, affairs, end up at the Flesh Fair. This is a place of excess and mayhem, and was long ago left to its own style of justice. While this place is accepting of criminals, by its own nature it is not safe. Nonetheless, if you're desperate, it'll do in a pinch... and if you need to get something you're not supposed to have, this is where you can go to find it, no strings attached.
Rules
It's no secret that, in the CVnU, science fiction has yet to consistently "catch on." The reason for this, I believe, is that space is a divided nation -- those who want to play in a sci-fi setting generally want to play in their own sci-fi setting, which creates few opportunities for cross-pollenation. Hence, I give you Eeogiex, a neutral science fiction melting pot for all of your characters to end up. Whether soft or hard sci-fi, hopefully this place will have something for you. If you use it, this will create an opportunity for crossovers within CV's space storylines, creating more bulk and more activity. So, the rules:
- Don't take the place over. Period. The point is that everyone can come here. No monopolies allowed.
- You don't need a reason to come here. Just go with it. You're with the Imperium? Fine. You're a jedi? Fine. You're from Illea? Cool. You have a spaceship and you're a sci-fi wayfarer? Spectacular. You're from Battleworld? Come on in! You have your own little pisshole planet, or your own story, or your own WHATEVER, or you just accidentally made a bad portal? ALL ROADS LEAD HERE. Just come in and play. It's supposed to be used by everyone.
- Feel free to expand! Just try not to wreck the place or change the flavor of the planet!
- HAVE FUN. LOTS OF IT. THAT'S AN ORDER.
