@cara_hunter: Yeah, there's no rule against controlling a parallel version that I know of, but I've seen clones made without premission before and it wasn't pretty.

I'm glad you brought it up, I'd actually like to see a CVnU rule that says everyone has control over their character and all alternate reality versions, clone versions, mirror universe versions, and so forth. That way everyone would have total ownership of their character within the CVnU.

@cara_hunter: General etiquette is do not make a character related to another, or ESPECIALLY an alternate version of a character without consulting the owner of the original character first.

If you were to create, say an alternate version of Kratesis, that is stealing her character and her idea.

If you were to create a relative of an already established character, that is using somebody's concept without their permission.

Some people are more allowing about this than others.

As a moderator, if somebody came to me annoyed that somebody did either of these things, that person would have two choices.

1. Do something else with the account

2. Not be able to use that account again

@pyrogram: that's a notable difference, npc off-panel creation yo fill a world history vs actual control. The former is acceptable, the latter not so much
