Continum: John Valentine vs Slight HS&F

It had been a week since the big fight between JV, Slight and Power Surge. He returned home to the New Oustiders base and there decided to take a week off. Relax, practice, and eat. New York was very different from VA where Slight grew up, the congestion of the city was terrible but there was something about the atmostphere that made it berible.
One day Slight was walking down the street, he had some bags from the farmers market in his hands. There were pretty heavy, and Slight could have used his telekenisis to carry them but, due to his identity and the rules of the New Outsiders, he could not.

Then he thought he saw a familiar face, withing the mass crowd. "Was that John" Slight asked himself. "Nahhh that wasn't him" He said to reasure himself. Slight was not sure if he could handle fighting with so many people around. Taking a shortcut to the base, he went through the park that was much less crowded, and sparse. 

Taking his time to enjoy the sun and scenery, Slight bent over and smelled some flowers. He got up, and kept walking. Unaware of his surrounding, Slight suddenly felt a lighting bolt to the back. It wasn't enough to knock him down, but is did cause him to drop his bags, and the food to roll into the algae filled pond. "So Soon, I thought I had at least a weak"

It had been one week since their intial encounter. In the week that had passed, JV had healed and was now in a state ready for battle.
Killing his way through criminal leads, JV eventually found the information he needed to hunt down his opponent, Slight.

JV travelled to the location to which he had been noted. For two days he stalked his prey, observing his every move.
In an appartment adjacent to Slight's possition, JV recorded Slight's routine, until he was ready to strike. For the entirety of the two days V hid himself in clear sight by warping the path of the light waves in his vicinity. Such an impressive feat would have seemed remarkable months prior, however due to the use of the power enchancing drug "jet", JV was capable of incredible things.

Delicately JV levatated down to ground level, hiding amongst the crowds of people which swarmed the city's dirty streets. The noise of the congested traffic drowned out the noise of his every movement and concealed his shadowed form. Standing behind his foe, JV released an electrical strike.

"It's time for you to die."

From behind Slight heard "It's time for you to die". Oh yeah that was definatley JV, and he was out to kill. Returning the favor, he tauntingly splashed JV. Knowing that it would anger him.

Slight had healed and was ready, for anything right now. Holly Cross had been out and his restrictions were gone. Waiting for him sto strike again. While waiting Slight got prepared, by forming a water whip. That was his easiest weapon to form, and it was great for ranged attacks.
"So how did you find me" Slight inquisitivly asked. "I know you don't know where I live, well now you do, but who told you in the first place"

As JV arrogantly chuckled, his eyes glowed an electric blue with the veins on his forehead pulsing with the same raw energy.
The water tendril slashed JV's chest causing a laceration to form. Enraged, JV clenched his fist, releashed a microwave blast, and disappated the water form.

"You don't know who you're messing with".

With that, John launched himself into the air and emitted a saturated micowave blast, instantaneously evaporating all water sources in the vicinity, rendering hundreds dead.

Just before JV unleased a microwave blast Slight pulled some water from the surrounding trees and grass. "I bet he didn't know that I could do that" Slight said in a quiet voice. After the attack was over, Slight senced that there was something different about JV, he was more powerful and more careless.

Looking around he saw that all the water in the pond, all the grass was desicated. WIthought water Slight had to rely on his telekenesis. Which was not in the best surcomstances for him. Not nearly as adept in that power, he could only control it to a certain extent.

Knowing that he was an easy target while he was on the ground, and that he was defenseless without water. Using his telekenesis, Slight levitated himself up to where JV, was, he seemed almost evil. Sending out a mental energy  blast that would knock JV unconcious, Slight began to form a fist of mental energy around his fists. "Looks like this will be hard"

JV was hit by the concentrated blast, yet he remained unmoved. His determined mental state enabled him to dispell the attack.
An angered JV exclaimed "For every strike against me, I shall kill three more people".

John focused his gaze upon three cowering civilians hiding inside an adjacent office building. Generating a magenetic field around them, he pulled them forth and out of the concrete tower. Moving his other hand, John brought forward one of his screaming captives. "Silence! I want to hear you scream!". John aimed an EM blast at his prey immediately liquifying him.
Shifting his focus to the other two stranded civilians, John clenched his fist causing his magnetic fields to constrict and crush them.

John turned to Slight smiling, "Your call."

"For every stirke against me, I shall kill three poeple" What? Senscless killing was what he had to offer in this fight. "This is between the two of us, no one else." Slight exclaimed. JV didn't even pay attention to his commands, as he killed three people.

"Okay remember your training exercises, with Holly, what would she do" Knowing that even Holly Cross was even out of her leauge on this one, Slight made a dicision. "Alright if you wont attack me, then I will just leave, a stalemate..." This plan was only a trick, and knowing that JV would figure it out, Slight left. The EM pulse that dehydrated all the water, was about 100 meters in diamerter. So that left the rest of the park.

Making it look like a flee of desparation Slight launced himself towards the still green part of the park. Landing fast and knowing that there was not much time left, Slight rolled onto the ground, and was immediatley on his feet. The forrest like park was filled with bushes, trees, flowers, and all sorts of water filled things. Including the pond that was connected to the underground resevior.

After rolling and gaining his balance back, he stretched his arms out and walked in the circle. This act caused the water to gather from all the leaves and grennery. Then bending forward on one knee, Slight crated a great wave, not head for JV, but at the perimietre of the park. The wave created a dome encumpacing the park. Slight let out a great breath and The dome froze. This not only gave protection to the people, but alowwed Slight to attack. Then in his next attack, Slight used an attack that was usually his last resort. Crystal Ice Rain.

Slight outstreched his hands and clenched them, then brought them into his chest in a quick snap, causing ice crystals to rain down heavely, and leaving a measurable amount of ice to protect the cevilians.

John pursued his foe as he fled into the viridian oasis in the middle of the now ruined urban landscape. In desperation, Slight manipulated the nearby water supply to form an ice dome, a barrier protecting Slight, the inhabitats of the nearby area,
JV laughed as Slight unleased the shards of crystal ice. John's eyes flashed, he focused his power, and enchanced his shield, which caused the ice rain to melt on impact.

"Petty rain and an ice wall will not stop me."

With that, John hurtled his shielded mass into the ice dome, forcing his way through. Rage passed through John's mind as he saw the trembling civilians; moving his hands he emitted blasts of microwaves, and clenching his fists his crushed people within his magnetic fields. After mascaring the hundreds of hiding citizens, something unexpected happened: V was hit hardbe a focused water blast. In his arrogance, John had been ignorant to the position of his opponent. Angrily, he turned his head the see the face of his weeping oppoent, dispelling Slight's attacks, John glanced into his eyes. He was met with a focused stare. From the centre of Slights eyes a white light emerged, as his skin began to emit a pure white aura, a clensing light.

John fired a blast towards the ground, evaportaing the undergroud water supply. Slight turned his hand, immediatley subliming the gaseous water vapour into a solid wall of ice, one whcih he forcefully protruded from the ground and caused to hit JV for a second time.

Something was definatley up with JV. He not only was much stronger he had seemed to just have one thing on his mind, and that was kill everything in sight. Slight's crystal rain attack was useless against JV force field, it evaporated on contact.

"Uhhgg" "This is getting very annoying"

JV launced himself through Slight's ice dome, and created a magnetic force field that he used to crush multitudes of people. Seeing this much useless bloodshed was more than enough to push Slight past his limit.

Now eye to eye, Slight began to emit a glowing icy blue light, a sure sign that the Oracle was coming out to play. Still, there was an underground water system that Slight could sence and he tried to manipulate it, but in a second JV had evaporated it all.
The mix of frustration, blood, and sheer annoyance brought out the full force of the Oracle. Creating a wall of ice, Slight hit JV twice in a succession.

With a dual voice, "How dare you"

The Oracle had seaped out into the surface of Slight's body, and was ready to kill. Just a quickly as this happened, JV jumped into an opening in the ground sealing it up. He also attempted to kill people innocent people, by imploding two buildings. The Oracle could not let that happen, as he was a protector of life, and also it ending.

Using his telekenesis, The Oracle formed an individual barrier around any body that was organic in the buildings. Next was JV. He had know by his cosmic awareness which way he was heading. And instead of following him, JV, The Oracle would teach him a lesson, in another more powerful way.

In the lone darkness. He would; by using latent telepathy; project a scenario he learned while with the X-Men. JV would hear screams and see things that were not there. He of course would be none the wiser. This little mind game was also a chance for him to see what mindless killing could do to a person.

Projecting the image and sounds of a woman, being gang raped by two men, was just right. Then JV would see blood and objects used to torture the vicitm. The Oracle would suggest that he look into the girls eyes, and see her innocence. "How terribly good, to see what you have done to so many, not even be in front of your eyes" The Oracle once again spoke.

Something interesting came up. JV on his own quest for vigil just chased after the two perpetrators of the rape. A slight mistake, by a cosmic being, forgetting to take away the image of two men laughing and running. On his own, John Valentine flew and takled the two. Not knowing that they were nothing more than two left over trash bags, forgotten by new develpment. Using his powers, he killed the two trashbags that he thought were two men.

"I would say lesson learned" The Oracle said, as he saw JV fleeing from the battle. "Maybe now you will value life, and know that it is not a toy?"
