Wow!
Avalon (CVnU Enterprise/Location)
@nordok: Sometimes!
It's funny because neither round was going well for him. Hunt was winning but he got caught ducking into that knee. You never know with MMA ;)
@azure_son: Hunt even won on the ground, which is insane.
@lady_liberty: Right? He even landed a nice elbow. He knocked Werdum down twice and he was just looking like he was going to knock Werdum out but he got caught and well... I was not expecting that LOL.
@nordok: We'll have to get you a gif but basically a submission artist just KOed one of the heaviest strikers who also has one of the most unbreakable chins in MMA.
@azure_son: Yeah me either. Especially the way the fight was going. It looked like Werdum didn't have anything for him, standing on on the mat but damn.. he did lol. At this point Werdum has tapped Big Nog and Fedor and KOed Hunt, so I think he's earned the right to fight the camp and be the champ if Cain can't return by March.
However the win does fit the narrative of 240+ fighters losing to 240- fighters at the high levels of MMA. There seems to be a point where size provides diminishing returns.
@lady_liberty: Dang. So he beat his opponent at his own game, basically?
@nordok: Something like that. I think he took advantage of what his presumed gameplan was going to be. Basically everyone knew he wanted to get the fight on the ground. So he faked a takedown, Hunt ducked/changed levels to defend and dropped his head right into a spring/half flying knee to the jaw. Then Werdum jumped on him with ground and pound until the ref stopped it.
All that was possible because Werdum is much, much smaller than Hunt. Hunt can't go faking takedowns into bounding high knees and part of the reason he walks off after KOs is because he can't really capitalize with energetic ground and pound without running the risk of gassing out. He's so big he has insane KO power but it comes at the cost of pretty much everything else.
@lady_liberty: It's funny because it seemed that it was Werdum that only needed one shot to win LOL, whereas Hunt I felt should have gotten the knockout win the way he was dominating until he got caught by the knee. I think so too, especially because Cain only fights once a year and somehow he still manages to injure himself all the time. I'm surprised casual fans still remember what he looks like.
There's a cardio and speed problem that comes with weighing more than 240 lbs. Only Brock Lesnar could weigh more and still have good cardio and be faster than everyone.
@lady_liberty: The cost of putting all your points into one stat, huh? ;)
@azure_son: Right? That was the inverse of the expected end haha. And yeah, Hunt was lighting him up. Though I think Werdum might have been faking some of it, but I'd have to watch a replay to be sure.
I watch every single card and I didn't know he had a beard lol.
Indeed. I'd love to see a DNA analysis of Brock. I suspect that he has a surprising amount of neanderthal DNA. Broad ribcage, long arms, thick brow and skull, shorter, thinner legs, piles of muscle and extremely fair skin [that randomly turns purple lol]. He's built like an ambush predator rather than an endurance hunter.
That's why Andre Arlovski is still so dangerous, even after being KOed so many times and losing much of his athleticism to age. He's fast and he's accurate and in HW that's a deadly combo.
@nordok: Indeedy lol. But I guess if you're gonna do it HW is the WC to do it in.
@schlampe: Hahaha! I'm amazed she remembered. And that would have been a killer costume.
...Right? Killer? Right?
@the_mercenary: Well, I did laugh, so you can give yourself some credit.
Constantine did it again! Damn the show is good, I might also try Sleepy Hollow.
Sleepy Hollow is a damn good show.
@shadowswordmaster: Yeah. I'm watching the second episode right now and so far I love it.
@doc_savage: It get's really good later on and I like how they tie it in with the Revolutionary War too in later episodes.
@shadowswordmaster: It reminded me of AC 3 lol in that aspect.
@doc_savage: It kinda does .
@shadowswordmaster: Never-the-less it's really goddamn awesome. I especially love the camera angles and the CGI. And they are doing well on the frightening side of things too.
@mercy_: Thats some strong work.
New laptop tomorrow. Finally one with a working battery lol
@shadowswordmaster: Never-the-less it's really goddamn awesome. I especially love the camera angles and the CGI. And they are doing well on the frightening side of things too.
Amen man.
@doc_savage: Does it work ok though ? my friend brought the newest one and apperently its riddled with glitches. Sent me a link and some look seriously funny.
@cassius_knightfall: AC Unity? Oh no. It's glitchy as fvck. Like it runs smooth, but - I can't describe it propertly. Basically it's got the AC syndrome where they smoothen the gameplay but don't actually fix sh!t.
Most of it isn't game breaking however. And as you said they are really hilarious.
@doc_savage: I heard the frame rate is the issue running wise. Peaks and drops alot when stressed. Lol i remember that syndrome well. Used to drive me mad randomly jumping in wrong direction or not allowing certain things to happen for no real reason. Least its still fun.
I have far cry coming tomorrow and i hope it doesnt have a game breaking bug like 3 had ( couldnt use stones or camera) which locked a level and stopped completeion for three months lol.
@cassius_knightfall: @doc_savage: You need to wait a month to buy AC, so they fix all of the glitches. That kind of applies with all of the games really.
@dark_vengeance_ Your sadly correct alot of the more recent big games have had some quiet major floors in them and thats kind of unforgivable when they are for sale in that state.
@cassius_knightfall: I am more of a Far Cry person myself, heh. I've heard the the PC port for the game could be bad tho'. Because it was handed to Ubi Ukraine and they couldn't work on it as much due to the conflict.
@cassius_knightfall: @dark_vengeance_: Reminded me that AC Unity had a Day 1 Patch because literally no one could run the game on Ultra because it would just fk up.
@cassius_knightfall: Yeah, take Destiny for an example. I'm holding my breath for Arkham Knight since they took an extra six months to sort out the glitches and make sure it works. So far we haven't been disappointied with Rocksteady so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt with the pre-order when I get enough money.
] @doc_savage: Ubisoft is an asshole to PC gamers.
@doc_savage: Luckily i will be getting the ps4 version (i refuse to join the master race as i like a strealined pc/laptop lol) which should be handled by the original studio.
Needing a day one patch to run is a joke especially when people will happily alpha/beta test games for free lol
@dark_vengeance_: Usually its down to the studio Rocksteady have a decent record. The only companies i trust 100% for launch now are From software and Naughty dog.
@cassius_knightfall: @dark_vengeance_: Honestly Ubi is becoming the new EA. The strategy of selling the fans overpriced sugar-coated sh!t has sadly become more popular.
@doc_savage: Worryingly so. Thats why i'am nervous about far cry 4 lol.
@cassius_knightfall: Far Cry has the benefit of unique and diverse maps with appealing backstories + modes of locomotion when compared to AC. Also they do a good job of spicing the game up with unique gameplay aspects and interesting weapons...
...However, from what I've seen in the skills tree and the crafting system, it's basically a tweaked Far Cry 3 ._.
