Alt Account Issues

@mercy_ sooooooooooooo my @agent_sarah_castillo was banned... again... idk how! I've posted multiple times with her already including with pictures and I get banned again? :/

@mercy_: I used to RP on a site where the admins were pretty snobby, so my humbleness carried over :P

One of MY alts just got banned because apparently not writing in english is a problem.

@icarusflies: You can email support@comicvine and the engineers can reverse it. But it's quicker to unban and undelete if there are only a few posts.

BUT.

If a thread was created and got deleted you're gonna run into problems trying to undelete it yourself.

@mercy_: Nothing yet, but I'm definitely concerned about the KOV : /

Luckily the profile had like 14 posts so it wasn't a big deal, but there could be bigger issues later.

@icarusflies: Accounts that are above fifteen posts should be out of the danger zone. There have been three or four accounts with multiple hundreds of posts that have gotten caught, but in the case of two of them it auto-reversed it. And it hasn't happened in about a month.

It may have auto-reversed. If it didn't, I'll fix it as soon as possible. Out doing some errands right now but it shouldn't be longer than an hour.

My alt @Catrina_Knightfall got banned. Fresh out of the womb. There is also no confirmation email.

Your account got autobanned because you made two from the same IP in quick succession. It's a measure to help ban spammers. Usually if an account has been accidentally banned I'm able to unban it, but I'm not when it's because of this reason. They keep triggering the anti-spam filter every time I've tried to fix it in the past. So you need to email the CV engineers (support@comicvine.com) in order to get them unbanned.

Oh, and I don't know if you have already, but just a head's up that all new Knightfall's should be run past G, as it's his concept.

Also, there's already a Catriona_Knightfall, so just to avoid confusion, you may wanna go with a different name.

@mercy_: Ok, thank you (for all three things there) so would a possible solution be to just wait a couple days before making an account, or will all new accounts be banned from this IP from now on?

And, uh, who's G?

@_atomikill_: No worries! And yes, that solution should work. I'd give it 24-48 hours and then go ahead with it. It's definitely not a forever thing.

Oh, sorry, Gambler. He's around on @quintus_knightfall and @raysh_al_shaytan right now. The Knightfall's are his concept, so just check with him before making one and you should be good to go :)

Is there an issue with the password reset after these issues? I couldn't login, so I sent a password reset to my email. It worked, but when I reset, it says an error occurred. Thankfully, I didn't log out of my account on my computer, I just won't be able to log in from anywhere else until I figure out what's wrong. >_<

@reddiamond: Wasn't me! It actually auto-reversed :D

Last time I checked (about a month ago) it was just an overall password reset issue across the board, affecting every account, unfortunately. Last time I tried to change my password the changes wouldn't stick. You should try sending an email to support@comicvine.com and asking if they can push a reset for you, other than that I don't know what to tell you unfortunately.

@mercy_: Would you kindly unban the account @statler? Hopefully it'll auto-unban soon, but if it doesn't I'd rather catch you while you're here.

And just as a heads up to you (and anybody else), I know that I'm kind of sparse right now but I check in every day. But if anybody needs me, just send a PM to my Mercy account. I have email notifications setup so that whenever I get a PM on that account, I get an email, and my email is tied to my phone. So it's guaranteed that if anybody sends a PM to my Mercy account, I'll know about it.

That account is not actually banned, and it doesn't look like it ever has been. What's happening when you try and post?

@mercy_: There is no box in which to post where there usually is one. I am also unable to post on others' walls.
