Gambler stood along the vintage cobble stone path lining the outskirts of the LaS rose garden. A possible new recruit had stepped forward with aspirations of joining the illustrious group of assassins. Little was known about the man named Hermond. However the Cajun had sensed great potential in the new arrival and had agreed to train him.

He slowly removed his black trenchcoat   as he waited. With nothing but his fabled staff in hand, the Living Legend was ready for the task at hand.

(This is a training battle between Gambler and Hermond. Normal rules apply: No God-Moding, No Auto-Hits, Etc Etc.. There will be no Ooc. If you have a question you can ask it here:

Hermod stared at Gambler from accross the sun soaked plane, the wind whipping the waist high grass back and forth.   Hermod's axes glistened with the blood of one of the other recuits.  Hermod laughed, because all he had to do was fill out an application.  His teacher smiled appovingly, and drew out his staff.  Hermod watched Gambler lean back and close his eyes.  a slight tugging and prodding at his soul brough Hermod back inward.  quickly it subsided, but not soon enough not to become adjitated.

Immediatly his teacher stuck his staff in the ground, and pulled off his long trench coat, revealing his styleized armor beniegth. "it's on"  Hermod said to himself. and got ready for the insuing chaos.

Hermod dropped his axes, smiling a bit, and folded out gambentien (his staff, if you haven't read the bio).  Started to look at his teacher, trying to judge what he would do in response to his own actions.  his first pawn to move was simply banter, "I wonder, if for such a powerful mutant like your self would it be a shame to lose to just a simple murderer like myself?"  And he started to spin his staff slowly, waiting for him to respond.

The Living Legend watched carefully as Hermod began to stylishly spin his staff. Cocking his head to the side the LaS captain began to duplicate the spinning motion perfectly. "As you can see mon ami, even in a loss I still win." smirked the arrogant Cajun. Then, without warning, Gambler spun his staff up into air while simultaneously whirling around. As he completed the rotation he flashed his hands forward attempting to knock Hermod off his feet by utilizing his telekinesis.

With one hand he caught the spinning staff before charging the hopefully stunned trainee. Gambler effortlessly glided across the cobble stone path, his heals barely touching the ground. Mimicking the movements of Akira Overdrive he spun around in a 180 unleashing the trademark roundhouse of the Phantom Phenom. Using the momentum of the spin the Cajun dropped down balancing his body with one hand as he went for a Brazilian capoiera leg sweep.

As he twirled back up to his feet he tucked his staff under his arm taking up a defensive position. He had shown Hermod a brief glimpse of what was to come. His infamous Cheshire Cat grin raced across his face as he waited for his opponents counter offensive.

Amazed at this display of mutant coordination and skill, the god watched as the acadian danced and spun around, seeming to waste his energy on theatrics.

He barely had time to react to the wave of telekinesis.  When he did, it only took him a split second to raise his defenses, but a split second too slow.  The busk of the wave got through his barrier, striking him and rebounding back onto Hermod's barrier, and again back to Hermod, who was now 20 feet away.  The peripheral strike slowed Hermods spinning enough to where he could contort himself into landing.  Taking time to take a breath before deflecting Gambler's round house, Hermod paid more attention to the complicated spin that Gambler performed afterward.  So concentrated was he that he didn't notice the leg that stuck out of the Tasmanian devil style cloud, and was tripped, and sent flying back , expertly completing a somersault to compensate.

Hermod didn't even see the smile become anything more than a smirk as he teleported behind Gambler, letting out a flurry of charged blowes to his unprotected back, ten strikes in all.  Then, Hermod lept backward, and started to spin his staff, faster than the human eyes could travel, almost as fast as the thought that drove it, and stared mockingly at Gambler as his teacher began to react.
