@miki: For the 3rd appearance, go to use Google to help out with his appearances and for Crossing the Chasm, like someone else said, find an annual for the book that features the two biggest people in DC.

I don't know third but here is a crossing hint:
both batman and Superman faced this menise (though it wasn't him exactly) and it only happened once a year.
