@hdorman1: The thing I like about Gyarados is that he is easy to obtain.

hard at the start
magikarp is a bi*&h to train to 20 from 5
unless...
 Magikarp of Kanto, you have great rage in your heart.

LOL A red ring can make wonders.
#154 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: indeed
magikarp is a bro though
he is cute, in his own way

thats how pokemon works for me
#155 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: LOL He can be a bit hard to train but if you wait the reward worths it.
#156 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: he so is
a massive dragon killer
ice fang
waterfall
eaartquake
and dragon dance
he kills everything
#157 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: The only thing that I don't like about him is his double weakness to electrical attacks but he is strong enough to cover this weakness. And his ability to cut his opponent's attack is very good also.
#158 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: yeah
intimidate is handy
and if you speed train him he is a  decent sweeper
#159 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: True he can be very fast.
#160 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: whats your team most of the time?
#161 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1:  I usually have only 5 stable Pokemon. I use the sixth spot for Pokemon I want to train. The Pokemon I use right now are Groudon, Salamence, Infernape, Buizel and Bidoof.
#162 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: i always have this team in some way

#163 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: It is a very good team. It covers a lot of types.
#164 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: thanks
i like to go for variety  and good type coverage
i wont be caught out in a battle
#165 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: So you started with a Turtwig. I started with a Chimchar although I have the other two.
#166 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: i actually breeded my current one from a friends and my super ditto ( a ditto i caught with perfect iv's in attack, speed, sp attack and hp)
in order to get one with an adamant nature and perfect iv's
took a few hours, but so worth it
i started out with piplup in diamond
i always do
and he didnt fit with my team
#167 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: I usually start with water-type Pokemon, only in Pearl I started with Chimchar. He was better than Piplup in my opinion. I got Piplup and Turtwig from the GTS.
#168 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: empoleon has very little weaknesses
well handy early one
duel steel types are a must for any team
#169 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: True that the steel type cover many weaknesses but Chimchar seemed easier to me to train.
#170 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: he does evolve rather early
#171 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: Yeah, at level 14.
#172 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: its a good starter
i prefer to have a good team dynamic, all similar levels rather then one awesome poke and 3-5 weaklings
#173 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: I prefer that too. When I level up Pokemon I want them to be in similar levels because you never know what can happen to your strong Pokemon.
#174 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: very true
im doing a nuzlocke run of emerald atm
my lead fainted so i have very little options now
#175 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1:  Nuzlocke run?
#176 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: yeah
they were a set of rules set up by this poke comic
its amazing
http://www.nuzlocke.com/?p=4

it gets frustrating though
i highly recommend it , to read and to play
#177 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: Thanks for the link. I might try it sometime.
#178 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: no problem
i only recently discovered it myself
the comic is brilliant
the gameplay is hard though
you feel such a loss when your pokemon faint
cos you gotta nickname em and all
you establish a real connection
#179 Edited by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: True. And you have to release them if they faint? Tough.
#180 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: it is
i lost my torchic(pyrce) in a battle against roxxy
so im grinding atm
marill, beautifly and zigzagoon
#181 Posted by Earthfall (188 posts) - - Show Bio

Mew...

#182 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1:  That sucks. Good luck with the rest.
#183 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: they are all level 16 atm
im hoping to get an aron in the caves next
and im gonna try and fish a magikarp soon
#184 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: In which game Ruby or Sapphire?
#185 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: emerald
my ruby version got stolen, with my gameboy a  long while ago
so i  got a ds and emerald version
#186 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: Really? I have a Ruby. It helped me obtain a Gengar in Pearl.
#187 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: stick in your ds and catch gengar in haunted mansion , in the room with the eyes
friend of mine did that
ive seen em while sp attack ev training there
i do all my sp attack training there
its perfect
#188 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: That girl if I remember correctly that appears in the rooms upstairs, is there anything we can do with that?
#189 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: not that i know of
i think she is there as a legit ghost
just to freak us out if you will
#190 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: I was always curious about it.
#191 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: same
did you ever notice the butler?
in the dining room?
#192 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: Yeah, I did.  It was kinda freaky sometimes.
#193 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: its things like that , that make the games fun
#194 Edited by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: True. The most annoying thing was trying to catch Feebas. And to evolve it into Milotic, not easy also.
#195 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: god i hate that thing
a friend of mine caught one in sapphire, didnt realise it was rare
so just stuck it in the pc
i told him about it
he shat bricks and started breeding that guy straight away
so we all got feebas
ive spent hours fishing for him, never gotten him
its all luck really
#196 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: After a lot of hours I got one in Ruby but I did the stupid thing to restart the game and I couldn't capture one later. In Pearl, I was lucky. I got one relatively easy. As for Milotic, I had to get one from the GTS, I couldn't do the whole beauty thing to evolve him.
#197 Posted by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@ComicMan24: it took many trips to the hair bros and daisy to make mine evolve
god i hate the thing
i dont like milotic
much prefer my bro Gyrados
#198 Posted by ComicMan24 (147042 posts) - - Show Bio
@hdorman1: It certainly doesn't worth all this trouble to get it.
#199 Posted by Gambit1024 (9890 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm thinking of restarting my Emerald version. Is this Nuzlocke run that fun?

#200 Edited by hdorman1 (4662 posts) - - Show Bio
@Gambit1024: its class
did you read the comic, or some of it?
it makes you really gave a connection with your pokebros
@ComicMan24: its really not
