Poke'talk. What the fairy??

I'm okay with Nintendo introducing a new type. I wish they would make more types. I'm even fine with older Pokemon being reclassified as Fairy type. Well, therein is where my complaint lies actually. Looking over the 34 Pokemon labeled as Fairy type, there are is an obvious trend, which just makes the odd ones seem more odd, and makes the absence of one family glaringly obvious.

If you look over the list, you see most of them are pink, cuddly or both. Or they have a certain graceful look, like Gardevoir and Flabebe. Dedenne seems tacked on as the generations Pikachu, and as an excuse to have an electric/fairy.

So where is the complaint you ask? Hmmm, what cute pink, and cuddly Pokemon is absent? Oh, I dunno, maybe Chansey??

Yes. Suspiciously absent from this grab bag of critters is the Chansey family: Happiny, Chansey, and Blissy. I guess there wasn't room with the mime, and the nightmare known as Mawile. Cause when I think fairy I automatically think about Mime's and steel-jawed alligator monstrosities. Or a set of sentient keys. Cause sure, okay.

I really don't know how this happened. Clefairy and Jigglypuff got in. Chansey family should have been an obvious shoo in for Fairy type. I mean, was there a cut off number? Its not like they tried to divide them up evenly by generation or whatever.

Other Pokemon that should have been Fairy type over Mr Mime or Mawile.

Bellossom. Hoppip. Skiploom. Jumpluff. Corsola. Delibird. Miltank. Skitty. Delcatty. Castform. Chimecho. Luvdisc. Cherubi. Cherrim. Chingling.

Yeah that one was a bite of an oversight.

Mawile is good though. They needed to do something with that pokemon because it was completely useless until now.

I thought mr mime made sense.

You know what, this is probably just the cutest rant I've ever seen. Kudos.

I'm still not to sure why they made the Marill line fairy. It just seems the they rushed this fairy thing or maybe they didn't want all the pink mons to be fairy, maybe to balance it out cause not every red mon is fire

I wouldn't mind. Some of them are clearly tacked on like Xerneas (gotta have a Legendary Fairy) or Dennene for reasons stated. But Mr Mime seems out of place here. If the criteria was a pink color scheme then a lot of characters got ignored. I see Mawile as more Steel/Dark. Or Steel/Ground. Or even Steel/Fighting.

Xerneas doesn't seem tacked on at all btw. He fits in perfectly with the whole beauty theme and is the perfect yin to Yveltal's yang.

@wildvine: I just wish they would fix Aerodactyl. Prior to Gen 6, he's got Rock Head, meaning he can use moves that do recoil damage without taking recoil and yet he can't learn either Head Smash or Brave Bird which was retarded.

Ok fine. They give him a mega and give him tough claws, only NONE of the rock moves he learns make contact. Seriously WTF Nintendo.

I guess I'm okay with that cause it was in the Fairy egg group, so its not totally out of the blue. No pun intended. She may be on to something about the color scheme though.

I dunno, shouldn't he have two types to counter balance Yveltal? (Yeah, I'm nitpicking now.) It is a nicely designed character, certainly more then Arceus. I don't see it as a Fairy, but I'm not the final authority on that. : )

@wildvine: Mawlie seems fine to me as an Fairy type, but I definitely agree on all the others. Well, I'm not sure about Goldeen and Seaking.

@ostyo: Goldeen > Seaking have that gracefulness that seems to be the other half of the Fairy bunch. Everything I said is debatable though.

Klefki should be fairy. In Pagan Mythology the Fay have a habit of stealing keys from idiot mortals

Good type. Pretty powerful against a few of my more powerful players.

Hey Wildvine, been meaning to ask yee, what do you think of the Gen 7 fairies such as Primarina, Ribombee, Ninetales, Shinotic, Tapu <Insert Name Here> and of course Mimikyu

They should make a type that eats humans

The Chansey line definitely should have been included over the Mario line or the jiggly puff line. Mawhile and Mr mime make sense because they're both at least partially based off creature from myth
