Comic Vine Weekly Podcast 5-15-15
@madeinbangladesh: I wish it was more positive. I think we just lost a few minutes so maybe not too much.
Man, I feel bad for you guys and your theater problems. I can't think of a single movie where I've ever had issues with kids or loud people. CINEPLEX VIP is the pinnacle of movie watching experience for me. Alamo Draft House was really fun too though.
I enjoyed Age of Ultron more the second time around with no 3D Imax and a better smaller crowd. Worth doing G-Man. ;-)
from what i heard whedon said the cave scene was much longer. Thor conacts the Norns who speak through him and Selvig writes it all down. But it didnt test well so the studio told whedon that its either this cave scene or the farm. one had to get cut down.
Kevin Maguire and Kurt Busiek both said they thought Supergirl looked fun, great, lighthearted, and a hero who actually tries to save people. And they said better than Man of Steel.
They do stuff like this throughout the movie. The general says, subliminal advertising works better in movies and suddenly this pops up for a few seconds:
I think what he was asking was all these heroes are very heroic and wouldn't just obey a dark force forcing them to fight or die. You would think they would all band together and fight. Maybe that is what he was wondering.
@artisticneedham: yup. That's what the report said. Kinda what I said on the podcast but didn't go into full scene details.
Oh Crap! Sorry @g_man. Didn't mean to spoil that for you. I was actually trying really hard myself to avoid spoilers for Daredevil, which is why I completely avoided looking at the Comic Vine articles about it after it aired. When I saw them I thought you were writing it because I think on the Supermassive podcast you talked about how you guys would review it (episode by episode vs Marathon...).
I'd hoped the spoiler alert would be enough to stop any ruination of the series, but I guess it wasn't as small a spoiler as I thought. I think Arrow and Flash have brainwashed me into thinking that eventually every character learns about the hero's identity.
Are most theaters in the US as bad as the one's you guys seem to have around you?
Out here(New Zealand) I have never had an issue in a theater at all. You always have designated seats so no rush to try and find the best seat and if there is anybody who is too loud or ruining the movie for other watchers the ushers always have a word with them.

I live in the US and I have no idea where Mat and Corey find these theaters. I guess they're the big chain theaters that get huge audiences, but I go to a lot of privately owned theaters and big ones like Cinemark and rarely have bad experiences.

It's a problem by me, too. From parents not seeming to care about how to their kids act to groups of friends being obnoxious, it seems to be unavoidable in many movies I go to.

The theater I go to is in a mall, right next to the local high school, so there's always teenagers there. The theater I REALLY like is an extra 30 minute drive and costs twice as much, but you get to sit in recliners and it's 21 and older only.
@inferiorego: Well that sucks, I must have just struck lucky with my theatre. The one time we had issues with noisey teenagers they were escorted out and we were all given free movie tickets as a thanks.
Do you record in the same studio as the Bombcast? They have had an issue or two recently. Only one major one. But there has been an occasional audio skipping on both podcasts.
I wish there was a cinema near me that was 21 and over. Some screenings feel like I am watching a film in a day care centre. The next step will be the cinema installing a ball pit in the aisle, to give the children something to do while their parents ignore them.
