Megan Fox v3 is already horribly annoying...Guhhh

And id anyone see the ground explode when Grimlock fell? How does that happen? Oh I know....Michael Bay...

This movie should be renamed Transformers 4: Age of Explosions......*cricket cricket*

Could 1:26 be Ratchet's death? I've heard rumors about him dying early on, which is why we don't see him at all in the trailers.

I'm actually disappointed at how serious this looks. I wanted my 2 hours of inane jokes, non-existent plot and explosions. :|

Guessing you're a fan.

I'm betting for a majority of Transformers fans not having to see Shia's terrible acting in the new film will be a major positive.

@life_without_progress: Pain and Gain wasn't a comedy. I live a few minutes away from where the Sun Gym Gang operated. They were f--king idiots who where too stupid to get away with the crimes they committed. There were like minor tweaks, in the film, but for the most part..Bay kept it straight. Look it up dude.

This made me think 3 things.

  1. Marky Mark's daughter in this is incredibly attractive and I hope she is over 18 so I'm not a freakin creeper.
  2. If they hurt the classic Camaro, I will be going to jail for bombing the studio.
  3. I hope they explain where the hell Sam and the gang are. We went from crying when he thought they died to not being involved with any of them for quite some time it seems.

Meh.

Which is sad since the transformers where a big part of my childhood and I should be really excited.

Just couldn't resist the slow motion running away from an explosion shot, eh? Regardless, I love the first film and think the third's enjoyable. This looks like it'll hopefully be a decent dose of popcorn fun.

It's weird that everybody seems to hate the 2nd one, I liked the first, thought the second was ok and hated the 3rd.

I don't hate it, but I do think it's poorly edited, has a terrible story, and the humor gets obnoxious. That said, the finale sequence is pretty solid.

I doubt they're going for Oscar nominations, it's simple awesome robot on robot violence...if you are expecting a movie on par with "12 Years A Slave" or "Gravity" you are an idiot.

I've never seen any of Michael Bay's Transformers movies… but this looks kinda ridiculous.

It's that big part in the middle with Le Bouf (or whatever his name is) and his new job and weird ass boss, I just find it so hard to get through that most of the times I've tried to watch it I had to turn it off.

Effects have never been a problem in the Transformers movies... I just never buy the human side of these stories. I can never get why I should invest into these characters.

I really hope this is good 'cause the last one was incredibly horrible.

I wouldn't call myself a fan really, not like I follow his work or anything. I just find Shia to be funny and people seem to mindlessly hate on him for no real reason other than it's popular to do so. I also think he is a pretty good actor too, at least in his earlier work (haven't seen anything recent with him in it).

Gross. Didn't know it was that kind of movie.

This will be really bad, or super good (for a transformers movie). In the last three movies, there was too much human character development and not enough focus on robots killing each other and the problems they death with as cybertronians. I hope that this time the plot line makes sense, the femal character isn't just used for sexual jokes and screaming, the robots and their involvement in the story is major, and that the dinobots don't suck.

But the plot seems interesting. I mean it's Autobots vs Decpeticons vs Humans/Government, and all Transformers are being hunted down to "extinction".

Wow, this is a huge difference in CGI within 2-3 months.

Seriously, why cant every movie have great CG like this.

I'm sure there is some mindless hate directed toward him but probably not as much as people would like to think. I'm sure a lot of people are in the same boat as me where they never really liked him as an actor. And then outside of his acting he kind of gives people reason not to like him as an actual person, this whole plagirism scenario showing the public he isn't a very upstanding and respectful person. So taking that in too account it's easy to see why a lot of people really don't like him and why it isn't just mindless hate.

What he does outside of acting shouldn't influence what one thinks of his performance. This also factors in to what I was saying. I don't really care if someone never liked him from the get go, since everyone has different tastes. What he, or nay actor/actress does on the screen is all I care about, not any of that other tabloid crap. That's all that matters when judging a performance.

#88 Posted by Jbreen (92 posts) - - Show Bio

@farkam: Saying what an actor does outside of acting shouldn't influence how people view there performances is all well and good in theory, however it will always effect how people see actors and it also depends on how good the actual actor and the film they are in are. For example an actor could be in a film trying to be this likable character but in real life they are a total arse, so unless the actor is doing an amazing job and you actually get totally engrossed in the movie you will always have this thought in the back of your head that the actor really isn't that nice of a person.

At the end of the day the debate about whether somebodies personal life should effect how you see them in a movie has so many variables within it(i.e how good an actor is, how good the movie is etc) that it is just not worth getting into.

So on the original topic at hand, I find Shia to be an actor I really don't like and in real life he doesn't seem to be that nice of a guy, so I think it is amazingly positive he isn't in the new Transformers movie and I think a lot of people feel exactly the same way, it isn't mindless hate toward him for most people, I think there is a lot of very justified reason why people don't like Shia as an actor or a person.

However at the end of the day its each to their own

Meh, that's if you follow the tabloid stuff which I don't anymore, so it makes sense that things like that don't bother me that much in comparison to others. Still, regardless of whether you know they are not that nice of a person, that shouldn't affect your judgement of their performance. At least it doesn't for me. I can make a distinction between an actor I don't like and a character I don't like.

#90 Posted by Jbreen (92 posts) - - Show Bio

@farkam: Again like I said each to their own. And it comes down to how good an actor they are, the better they are the more you can become involved in their movie and forget about everything else. I, like a lot of people find Shia not to be a good enough actor to suspend our disbelief and truly believe he is the character he's playing.

You're stating the obvious here, and it was nothing I was disputing. And you need to stop speaking for other people. You have no way of knowing how many people hold the same sentiments as you. If you are going to keep saying "each to his own" then you might as well stop replying.

#92 Posted by Jbreen (92 posts) - - Show Bio

@farkam: You stated that regardless of what they are like it shouldn't effect how you view their performance ad I was just stating that it depends on how good the performance is and the how you view the performance is always subjective to the individual watching it.

As for me talking for other people, not really the case. Again I'm just stating what I've seen and read in regards to Shia and his performances, and the majority of what I've seen is negative in terms of his acting ability
