The Event of Creation - The idea that "everything came from nothing." Some people agree with it, others don't. Does it reject the existence of a God? As science progresses do you think a new reason could arise or was Religious texts like the Bible correct. This is also a Q & A thread so we ask and answer questions.

<-------- P.S Don't I look sooo cute now

I believe God, or some type of divine being was the one to initiate the Big Bang Theory and create the universe.

I'm gonna start this off by throwing his out there:

"Both the Big Bang and Evolution are important parts of the naturalistic viewpoint. When using the term, “naturalism,” in this sense, it is the name of a philosophy that maintains that the natural world is all that exists. It does not accept supernaturalism, keep in mind that science cannot explain supernaturalism. Naturalism, in this sense of the word maintains that the universe got here by itself, with no creation or even direction by a God."

I don't believe in God specifically. I believe there could be forces in the universe beyond our understanding. I also believe in science though and don't think that science disproves the possibility of God while religion tends to try to refute science. I don't accept that the bible is true when there are so many other past religions that we think of as 'quaint'. Any religion created by mankind is going to be as flawed as mankind.

I belive that the existence is "God", "The Force" or whatever you want to call it.

Also i belive the whole universe and everything came from nothing, is a theory that needs to stop, since a Canadian and a Mexican find out, that there was something before the Big Bang, what mean the existence is eternal.

Also that the whole existence is created by the mind.

Some may not agree and might try to argue, but I think God started the Big Bang.

More importantly, I think science is a way of understanding how God makes things work.

What's to discuss?

The theory is that the original atom/material exploded into the universe, which is still expanding.

Yes it does. god is not mentioned in the theory.

Does the Big Bang contradict the laws of science like the Conservation of Mass or Conservation of Energy? What's your views

@InnerVenom123: Just curious...the fact that God (or other unknown Supreme Being, Force, or Intelligence) isn't mentioned automatically means the theory rejects it? Not saying you're wrong...just curious. I should probably start out by saying that I'm Christian, but I in no way believe that my religion or Holy book covers every question there is, especially in regards to science.

The point is there are several HUGE unknowns about the process...how did the matter that was involved in the Big Bang get "there" in the first place?

I won't bore anyone with my particular ideas of faith, or the things I see as small amounts of evidence in the universe that seem to provide evidence to SOME sort of grand design, I can't PROVE it in any way scientifically...that's why it's called faith ;)

However, science (at this point) has many holes in its explaination of they way things came to be, and if people stop to REALLY look and think about it, while we have some pretty good scientific theories for stellar and even terrestrial and biological origins, the best we HONESTLY have are very good educated guesses. I'm inclined to agree with most of those guesses, since given the facts and scientific principles (within reason) proven to be true, they make the most sense. However, again they really are just very educated guesses, I've spent a LOT of time and research on this matter and would be happy to enjoy a reasonable debate about it. From a scientific view...not religious...I've already established that there's no way to prove what I personally believe.:) There's my two cents folks, I'm always up for a good debate.

The theory doesn't say "oh, and god did it".

So, yeah. I would think it's rejecting god, or at the very least, not including it.

Okay, I see your point. And given the attitude of most scientists that's certainly a logical conclusion to make. I was simply curious about where you were coming from on that statement...wasn't looking for a "right" or "wrong" answer.

@GrandSymbiote94: I'm not sure why, either. The dislike of the answer normally comes from both sides, which is fine. But, the way I see it, God made it possible for scientists to make all of these discoveries, theories, and laws. All of it goes back to Him.

Exactly. So wouldn't it prove both sides right in a way? That there is a God and the Big Bang really happened.

The multiverse is the hypothetical set of multiple possible universes, which means there is a universe that exist where God and Unicorns are real.

This is some really funny stuff lol. I'm glad this isn't bogging down into a super entrenched "science is the ONLY answer"/"God is the ONLY answer" dogmatic rant fest. Having said THAT, I would like to point out that there are at least two different (and viable) non-creationist/non Big Bang theories for the creation of the universe, one of which was forwarded by a Nobel lauriet. I've included a SHORT version of them here http://big-bang-theory.com/ if anyone is interested. Just putting it out there so that folks know, that even the Big Bang theory isn't universally accepted by the scientific community. Have fun with it :)

PS. Please excuse me, the article lists more than two alternate theories, but only briefly explains two. It goes on to list several more, and one of THOSE was by a Nobel lauriet. I appologize, it wasn't my intent to mislead anyone.

That means there's one where I have the Venom symbiote.

Sure, as long as you don't wear anything Lady Gaga ever wore to it.
