I vote katana, since they are able to cut through a lot in a single slice, as opposed to something like a battle axe, which must require a few strikes, and is more likely to sever the spine, and render him immobile. Otherwise, I'd go with other, since it wasn't listed up there, and choose a gun with armor piercing rounds. When dealing with zombies, long range incapacitation is best, since there's a lesser chance for them to claw or bite you, and it's just a matter of time before you cut yourself... on a blade that just hacked up zombies, and thus has infected zombie blood on it. None of the long range options listed up there would be good take-down options. Something that explodes from the inside is best, so that narrows it down to armor piercing rounds, and certain types of grenade launchers, but the grenade launcher would be too bulky, so, I'd go for armor piercing rounds.

Can I tie a really strong rope to a chainsaw?

machete. light, sturdy, and practical. a katana would be nice for a while, but then the edge dulls in combat, or your caught in close combat, and you want something with a bit of ruggedness and meant for up-close-and-personal. Machetes are also very practical, useful for prying open doors, or other non-combat related activities. with a katana you'll need something like a crowbar to accompany it. i'll take an m1 carbine and a machete over a katana and machine gun anyday.

Katana.  Already sharp enough to cut a man in half, a decaying zombie would be no problem.  Also, I have my army of angry hicks.

Bow and Arrows, since their silent, and won't catch the attention of more zombies :]

No no no, you want anti-personal rounds... you want maximum damage not maximum penetration. How many of these zombies are going to be wearing body armor? Its not mentioned but I would want a shotgun with deer slugs, that gives you a bit of range and maximum damage to boot, that is if I can't have a full automatic weapon like an M-60 or a M-249 SAW. "
