Spaghetti bending
Your Unique Bending Style
I'd make a rock suit and rock swords... I know... not that clever. (+)
There is nothing wrong with swords
I'd want sand bending like Gaara.
Sand bending is cool, I wish they showed more of it in Avatar

Airbending plus twin hook swords
Nothing particularly unique here. Just regular airbending with some weapons that function very well with airbender fighting styles (sweeping circular motions, a lot of footwork and manuverability, etc).
Earthbending shoes
Earthbending rocks planted in the soles of my boots. I probably couldn't use that technique to fly, as it would kinda break the Avatar mythos, but I think it could be used for enhanced jumping, agility, and extra-powerful kicks.
Waterbending ambient moisture
Hama did this once. She showed Katara how to suck all of the water out of plants and use it. I would draw the moisture out of the air and turn it into a liquid. When liquified, it would probably result in only a very small amount of water, so I would adjust the usual waterbending fighting style to be more like Toph's mantis-kung-fu-style earthbending, relying much more on patience and surgical strikes to weak points than on raw power.
Waterbending poison darts
1. Coat a dart or fill a syringe with a water-based poison. 2. Waterbend the poison. 3. Now I have poison darts that I can control.
Earthbending pocket sand
Self-explanatory. It's the only good idea ever to come out of King of the Hill.
Airbending shockwaves
Basically the same as a thunderclap. Clap your hands in front of you and use airbending to massively amplify the force of the resulting sonic wave.
Firebending weapon enhancement
Works for if you want to me more or less dangerous with a weapon. On the one hand, you could add explosive force behind heavy-hitter weapons like hammers, clubs, or staves. Or, if you're a sword guy who doesn't like actually killing people, you superheat the blade of your sword so it cauterizes the wound.
Airbending stealth
Sound is carried by the air. Manipulate the air so that every move you make is totally silent.
Airbending shield
Both fire and electricity also travel through air. If your opponent is a firebender, airbend a void (pocket of no air) between you. Lightning and fire attacks will stop short.
I would love to be able to incorporate airbending with Ty Lee's pressure point attacks. Since airbenders do more maneuvering than other bendiners IMO I think using the airbending with that would be pretty epic and effective.
@arcus: Did they sand bend in Avatar? I thought they just did earth bending.
@noone301994: well it was a form of earthbending, the desert people @feral_nova: that'd be very effective @kaang_the_watcher: those are some very cool ideas
Waterbending= instant mummification for the win
Airbending= synthesize poison gases (inside the opponent's body) for the win
Earthbending= bone-bending, seismic pulverisation attack with a massive area-of-effect, akin to Avalanche of the Mutant Brotherhood (but with the capability to crumble people's bones as well) for the win (and casualty levels comparable to a strategic nuclear warhead)
Has long distance sniping ever been a thing? If not, I can see it being used with great affect with either water or fire bending.
Since firebenders are empowered by the sun i would bend the energy direct to archive other things like energy bending, lightbending(affect the intensity and luminousity of the light), heat bending(increase the heat or transfer heat to my target making them melt to death), and gain my own philosophy of the sun god by gainning immunity to heat and fire. Then i become firelord.... No i become..... FIREGOD or the SUNGOD and a villain would follow my philosophy like zaheer did guru laghima
Since most of the quizzes I take online put me as an airbender, the airbending style I'd try and develop would be:
Telekinetic Airbending: Basically being able to use airbending to move large objects. Tables, cars, heck maybe even rocks or trees would be nice. It would give me extra weapons and options to use in battle. Or outside of it.
Air bending.
-Creating vacuum around fire benders making them unable to use fire or lightning, and making them suffocate, and ripped apart from the inside by the pressure difference. And then collapsing that vacuum bubble to create an explosion.
well that's violent

Kinda like when Aang beat Zuko with his own mattress :)
Using bending to create malleable armor. Like Armor from X-Men but with the respective elements, and each element has their own attributes to the armor. Metal and earth armor would be the best against blunt force attacks and increase the wearer's strength by how powerful their bending is. So someone like Bumi would be a 100+ tonner with his King Kong sized rock armor.
@juiceboks: I can picture Bumi doing something like that, nice @hylian: what sort of technique would you use?
I saw an unfortunate number of posts that made some awesome new ways to bend without explaining in any way how it has any connection whatsoever to the base elements. I hate to be a kill joy, but time bending? Gravity bending? I just like to hear the breakdown for the good ideas.

Yeah those sound retarded.
@lunacyde: Coherent bending wins every time!
I'd definitely want to be an air bender. The gift of flight is probably every man, woman and child's dream, cliche as it may be. The aforementioned sixth sense would be useful too, making it nearly impossible to get tagged... when awake! I suppose a form of limited telekinesis could be achieved as well, but it would be pretty rudimentary... unless you were a particularly powerful bender! There was the man who could blood bend with his mind. And flight is basically bending without moving... hmm, maybe telekinesis isn't quite so farfetched, eh?
Diamond armor for the win!
Lightning armor for the win!
Lava armor for the win!
Spiked ice armor for the win!
Well since Firebenders get their strength from the sun, I have always wondered if one was concentrating enough and was powerful enough, could they bend the light around them and become invisible?
If so, I would so do that.
@granitesoldier: Diabolical...

Interesting, in theory it could be possible
Could an Earthbender bend the natural earth in your body (such as iron, tin and phosphorus to name a few) in the same way a Bloodbender does with liquids? I say yes!
I would probably be a waterbender in real life, based on my personality, but would much prefer to be an earthbender.
I would like to see Mercury Bending for metal benders. It's like water metal, and super poisonous.
My personal style just as a normal bender would be hiding underground and spamming attacks of earth. Using seismic sense to know where my opponents are and the ground to hit them, while I'd be chilling untouchable deep underground.
