Your Unique Bending Style

Throughout Avatar, we've seen people develop their own unique techniques, styles, or weapons of choice when bending.

For example:

Mako and Bolin use quick, accurate attacks in a pro-bending style

Huu uses his giant plant monster

Lin and Suyin (and most metalbenders) use metal cables

Kuvira uses her blades

The Dai Li use their rock gloves

Ming Hua uses her water arms

Zuko was able to incorporate his swords into his bending

And so on. My question is, if you could develop any bending style, what would it be? Would you use a style already seen in the show, or would you invent your own? Would you use a weapon of choice like Kuvira? Would you develop a unique style of fighting like Ming Hua? Would you incorporate a weapon like Zuko and his swords? Even if you wouldn't use it, are there any creative ideas you've had? This is the place to share

To get things started, here's one of my ideas. I would use water armor, similar to Toph's earth armor, for melee combat. This would allow me to form blades of ice or cutting water, it would offer me protection from fire attacks in liquid form or from earth while solid, and it would allow me to enhance my striking power by increasing the mass of water around my fists or by channeling brief blasts of water as I punched

Ok....I've always wondered what it would be like to be covered in a thin yet very durable layer of air as an armor of somesort. It can protect me from fire, and can redirect earth bending attack. It has its limits though. It isn't durable enough to protect me from lighting and combustion bending. I could use the air to make thin knives and sword thank can cut through almost anything. I could increase my strike by using air to blow back my opponents, and send air strikes from afar. Thats all I've got for now.

Since lung bending and blood bending are old news, I'd work to create:

• Nerve bending. Through concentrated firebending I would be able to control the electricity inside a person's body and cause them to explode. Insta-win.
• Mineral bending. Through concentrated earthbending I'd manipulate trace elements like Iron etc in people's bodies to cause them to explode. Insta-win.

That would be impressive

I know they've created steam before and sometimes bent it to create cover, but it would be interesting to use it offensively

I was thinking the exact same thing and was about to type something like that. Except mine would be hitting the nerves with electric strikes causing great amounts of pain.

If I could use lightning I wouldn't even bother with regular firebending, just spam lightning blasts

Imagine what we could do with lightning now.... All this electricity running through machines....

That would be pretty cool, if firebenders could maintain the electricity for prolonged periods as opposed to have to shoot it out, you could not just cause nerve damage, but surge it into your bodyparts and headbutt through steel etc or even increase durability. Masters of the art could cover their whole body for prolonged periods in a similar manner to earth armour.

Though it would take tremendous concentration, since if you let it begin to surge it could hit your heart and kill you.

If you could actually manipulate electricity instead of just generating it...so many possibilities...

Even if you couldn't bend lightning with the same control as the four main elements, you could always do something like redirect electricity from something like power lines into a super-charged attack

That would be awesome

My personality reflects fire bending, without a doubt.

I would be slower and less graceful, but more concentrated and powerful. Sort of like Ozai.

I have some ideas..

Thermal Sense (Fire)

Fire version of earth's seismic sense, i.e. able to see/detect heat

Dust Bending (Earth)

Able to control dust in the air and move it (think of it like water's steam and able to create cover/etc. with it) advanced users can use it to create boulders out of thin air.

Medusa Style (Earth)

By making the earthen particles inside a person rise up abruptly, the user is able to form a cement like stone on somebody's or someone's skin.

Shockwave Bending (Air)

Able to create,form, and control shockwaves.

Water doesn't need any more sub styles, it already has the most

Anyways, if I were to create my own bending sub-type... Hmmm...

Carbon Monoxide Bending!

I like the shock wave one.

This would only work for water or Earth but multiple objects that you can control with your mind independent of your body.

An Earth bender would have multiple earth/metal spheres around them

A water bender would have multiple ice spheres.

We have Sozins comet but did they ever mention how hax water benders would be in something as simple as the rain.

Calcium Bending

A type of earth bending where you focus on the earth inside your bones to make your bones grow rapidly. I could make claws Wolverine-style, or I could make my skull thicker to avoid concussions and whatnot.

So much other stuff too. Like making my joints lock in order to allow me to lift heavy objects. Make my bones lighter to allow me to run faster. Make my teeth regrow or make them grow sharper. Make my rib cage thicker to avoid heart injury.

You could do sword bending, use metalbending to sword fight without holding the sword (or swords-be a one man army)
