That's the vibe I was gettting. Some of the nominations and winners on there are quite bogus every year. For example, Transformers: Age of Extinction not even getting nominated for best visual effects.
I think I stopped caring about it completely about 15 years ago as with all award shows. Of all the award shows the Oscars is by far the most pretentious though.

What? Of all things you're questioning that? Sure it wasn't a good movie, there were a few sloppy effects here and there but overall the animation in it was stunning and excellent. The LEGO movie getting snubbed really puzzles me though.
The Lego movie snub is unforgivable. It wasn't just the best animated feature of the year, it was one of the best films of 2014.
Birdman was the most overrated movie I have seen in a long time. I really don't get the hype. Ok, so they used a gimmick to make it seem like the film was shot in one long take. Overall it was boring and Keaton wasn't anything special imo. If he wins the Oscar over Redmayne they need to disband AMPAS immediately.
Boyhood was so boring I fell asleep watching it. My favorite films up for best picture for 2014 are Imitation Game and American Sniper.
It's all rigged and bullsh*t. American Sniper will be totally ignored, Tegan and Sara will suck live (as they always have) and I will be watching something else.
