@ReVamp: Sucks that Square-Enix is making excuses for not releasing a remake.
@ReVamp: That's pretty much what I'm saying. They aren't releasing it because it would take too long to make. That's their excuse.
They don't even begin to wonder why western RPGs are kicking their tail nowadays.

Very true. But FFX is still one of the best FF ever made IMO. Also I would love a sequel or spin-off of FFVIII as it's my all time.@spiderbat87: Yep. Even though FFVII would sell 5 times more.

7 is my fav with X as my second favourite, but I'd rather replay 7 remade than X any day of the week.

I know. But they'd make so much money from it. I mean... wow. C'mon Square!
I would love to get that FFX remake, but I'll pass. I almost beat the PS2 version and my save data got corrupted. Never played it again after that.
@ReVamp:
That's what a lot of other people were saying. I'm not exactly sure as to why they wouldn't invest time into the game. A video game that takes years to make, in most cases, usually comes out really good. So, the time and effort put into it actually pays off in the long run. If a game is going to take too long to make, why wouldn't they make it, anyway? Considering the fact that Yoshinori Kitase and co. have been at it for years, you'd think that they would know that. It's not like they don't have the time or the money to pull it off (¥125.271 billion/$1.550 billion). The game would really help their revenue.
@Static Shock: They don't even need all that much time. Nearly eveything it done, they just need to create graphics and voice act that whole thing. Perhaps modernize the level up system, but keeping it the same. Everything else, the plot, the attacking scheme, the mechanics... is done.
@ReVamp: But, then there's the character models and the landscaping. All of it would need to be redone because what's currently in the game is way too old (15 years old). The battle system is a different matter. It should be the same, but with some slight modifications. Or hell, make it downright real-time, action RPG. It would still be good.

That's exactly what I said. Just redo the graphics [characters and landscape] and a few tweaks to the leveling up system [and battles by extension].
@ReVamp: Oh, okay. My bad.
@Mega_spidey01: Forgot about Darksiders II. I still need to finish the first one.
Yeah, das dumb as hell.@texasdeathmatch: Yeah, they are. That's the whole problem I have. Even though releasing FF7 would be harder, if you take a look at it the demand that people have for a PS3 FF7 game is much higher to that of a remake of FFX.

@Static Shock: Then just create a new game and let the classics rest. I dunno, remakes for movies can be a terrible idea, but I find remakes of a game (that's over 10 years old) to be even more silly.
I think they can make it happen. But, hey. Different strokes for different folks.
Then I guess we can't be friends... :D@texasdeathmatch said:

Glad we agree, but I disagree about letting the classics rest.
However, I am kind of looking forward to Asura's Wrath. Just played the demo last week, pretty goofy but fun.
Also, why has no one said:

Then I guess we can't be friends... :D I mean, I get it, its an epically, beautiful game with an amazing story and intriguing characters, but I've realized as I get older, I rarely replay games after I beat them once. Like Chrono Trigger, easily the greatest RPG ever (fact, not opinion :P). Loved it, actually played it countless times just to get all the endings and such. But when I heard there was going to be a 3D remake, I thought that was f*cking retarded and would tarnish the 32-bit experience, because it wouldn't be the same game. But whatever, I'm just rambling now.
Well, I want to replay the game. The story is just so complex that I can't remember it totally, which means replaying the experience would be awesome.
