Otaku is beyond geek, its not necesarily negative. There are both cool and introverted socially inept dork Otakus. But what does it mean? Its like that guy in tropic thunder who is talking about gaming and porn and video formats who no one is listening to, he is otaku. If you had any idea what he was saying, you might be Otaku

If you agreed with what he said and referred to that scene for your argument, you might be Otaku.

If you know what the word Edrik means you might be an otaku.

If you can play any of the super mario game songs on a musical instrement you might be an otaku.

uh I'm a complete otaku apparently....

its ok its not a negative thing, just kinda of means your into characters be it games anime or comics. I think it is a sign of ejnoying imagination and the potential for ourselves, all these characters have an exagerated sense of justice and peek in human attributes. Its the strive for betterment and currently religions dont fill that need as they are mostly backwards, super heros are the new demi gods. The difference is we know they're fake. But what they stand for isnt. What they stand for is real.

@buttersdaman000: There's a sizable amount of people in the fencing class in my school who dress up EVERY DAY. This one guy styled his epee to look like Ichigo's sword and his mask to look like the hollow Ichigo. He carries the epee on his back and wears his mask in public all the time. And I thought fencing was a more dignified gentlemenly sport.

Otaku basically means fan. So if you like Comics, you're an Otaku.

IN my list I am mixing gaming Otaku, anime Otaku, and comics Otaku together so if you are getting all of them you are a true Otaku. If you are getting 3-5 but all in the same category thats your otak
