Only when the disc spins at certain parts like the initial load as you start the game or when the system loads up a big level, but the sound should be more of a soft hum rather than the super loud one (rawrrrr) with the old 360.

Halo 3 has huge stages though. You are talking about when it loads in between stages right? Gear of War 2 has to spin the disc constantly too to stream in the extra textures because Gears of War 2 uses ALOT of texture and to make up for its 60fps, the disc needs to spin faster.
@Cypher's Gambit: No it's constant on those games. Maybe it's what you said. I changed the position from vertical to horizontal too to see if that helped but it made no difference. It sounds like the disk drive. The games play perfect otherwise.
