To prove their worthiness to become men, and warriors of the village, every boy on their 18th birthday must perform the Pickle Sandwich Sacrifice.
In groups of three, the boys place pickles in their mouths, and sandwiches on their heads. Though it is not part of the standard ritual, it is encouraged to wear a bra on the chest in order prove their strength and vitality to the women of the village.
By bridging a third between the two, they must stand for 40 days and nights, without movement or speech. Any failures are banished to become slaves to the warriors of the village. To date, only 50 men have passed the ritual, and no one knows why the Kaboobabumzians continue this archiac practice.
