Would you kill your ENTIRE family for unlimited wishes?

#1 Posted by DIZ (377 posts) - 2 years, 10 months ago - Show Bio

If God walked into your doorstep and told you that he would grant you unlimited wishes if yo killed your entire family, then would you do it?

You just have to kill your parents and siblings. You can wish whatever you desire. The only limit is your imagination.

Just how far would you go to achieve limitless possibilities?

Respect and humanity come before personal gain, always.

No and I think you should seek help if you think God is asking you to do this.

I could be the smart ass that says "Yes, and then I would wish them all back again", but nah.

So no.

I hope you didn't make this thread because you hear a voice in your head telling you if you murder your family, you will gain these wishes?!

I was thinking about that too, but when you brought them back, what are you going to do? Erasing their and your own memory of the incident can be the only thing to do to avoid anything from happening in the future.

You should erase your own memory too of just that incident unless you could live with the fact of knowing that you murdered your family for unlimited wishes...

@Sexy Merc: i wouldn't be able to just arbitrarily kill anyone especially not my family but in if i could get them back in good health and with life improvements i'm pretty sure it'd be an almost guilt free experience now if i could get unlimited wishes by killing the cast of twilight that wouldn't even be an issue cause taking them out would make the whole world better

Aha, I would probably erase everything Twilight movie related from existence instead of killing them though. Maybe even make it so that the writer never wrote it, but I think she deserves some sort of recognition for it.

If one of the wishes would be to be able to rewind time to BEFORE I killed them and still retain the wishes...Then sure.

I'm sure my sister would let me kill her if I could bring her back to life, and use the wishes for her benefit. I'd use my first wish to bring her back, and use the second one to kill God.

Wouldn't you take advantages of more wishes before disposing of god?

Why? I already have the unlimited wishes. I don't need God after I have them.

I'd just politely say no and then go find a genie to grant me the same power without requiring the use of bloodshed. If I'm reeeeaaaaaallly bored I'd do it and ressurect my family and erase my memory, then I'd shoot god in the face and take his place.

The Old testament god would, he'd kill your family just to see how long it would take for you to crack (Job...poor sob.)  The god of the old testament is a major prick, equal to the jerk@$$itude of Zeus, though Yahweh preferred to smite people for not paying attention to him, while Zeus had sex with any women who was attractive in anyway whatsoever. So they were jerks for different reasons, boiling down to murder/genocide vs rape/adultery. The New Testament god is a boring hippie, instead of the rivers of blood he becomes this mellowed out "I wuvs you all" guy, and even then, the Buddha ends up doing a better job of it.

I would kill them and use my first wish to bring them all back. If it really happened of coarse I wouldnt because god would never ask u to sin.

The Old Testament is referred to in Christianity quite frequently. Original sin, the 10 commandments, etc.

True. But, most of Christianity is based on the New Testament.

The implications come in the fact that Judaism exclusively follows the violent, temper tantrum throwing god of the old testament, while christianity follows the nebulous god of the new, and since you said they are different religions that can be seen as an attempt to distance yourself from the god of the OT and judaism as a whole.  Though Judaism had all the tenets of the so called "Pagan" religions, save for it's number of gods.

maybe he mellowed out between Malachi and Matthew?

actually I believe he's just as wrathful in the New Testament he just has Jesus to keep him in check

No Old Testament means no new Testament, Jesus would have been a Pagan or Zoroastrian, and we'd be praying to Jupiter or Ohrmazd.  Of course, Christianity is something like the bastard child of Judaism and Zoroastrianism already.
