Probably one kid, I've thought about it.
No, statistics say that at least one of these orphaned kids has what it takes to be Batman....I don't want to squander their potential!
There are only two conditions in which I would adopt a child:
I really don't know. I do know that I would adopt the child or children of parents who passed away and they were family members, good friends, etc. In my culture, if you're chosen as the godparent of a child you are assumed to be the person the child would go to if the parents were to die although that would probably be after grandparents (if they're willing). So, yes, I would adopt in that situation.
I think I would adopt if I couldn't have kids. It's not outside the realm of possibility. Same if the person I'm with couldn't have children although there are other avenues we could travel should that happen. Assuming we've exhausted every road, then yes, if we are both up to it. It's not a one person decision.
I wouldn't adopt if I was alone later in life for the sake of having a child. In that instance, I'd more than likely have my own child and if I couldn't, then no. Living childless wouldn't be too much of a hardship since I have so many nieces and nephews and cousins and their offspring to come and on and on. I can see myself having favourites or at the very least, be very generous and involved in my godchildren's lives.
As for adoption outside of culture or whatever, I don't know? I mean, if circumstances came about in my life that I got to know a young child who needed adopting, then I might. It's an odd situation to envision now, but should an opportunity present itself in the future, I can see me doing it.
So, I guess I'm answering this as "I don't know", but I do know I'd adopt in those hypotheticals. At least, I think I would?
(edited to add that I wouldn't care what ethnicity the child was. Or age.)
I would rather adopt than have my own children, the world population is already too high and I don't want to add to it
Probably one kid, I've thought about it.
That was quick!
I'd love to adopt some children but they'd all wind up illiterate, barefooted, hillbilly rednecks which I see no problem with but society says that that's no way to raise a child. It worked for me...kinda.
I read what you wrote wrong. I thought you were saying, you've finished thinking about it, as in, just now, and chose one kid. Not that you've thought about this question before, haha. Ignore me. A little loco this evening.
Only if I was really hungry

My, my. How very evil of you. ;p. JK.
I'd probably adopt one. Actually, in my mind, if I have 2 children, and if both of them happen to be girls or boys, I'll adopt a girl if I have two boys and vice versa. Funny thing is, I have an aunt on my mom's side who has two boys. Because most of my aunts on my mom's side who have two kids had a boy and girl, she always jokes about adopting a girl just to even out the gender ratio in her family..
@saint_sophie: Snag a big meaty one for me
@darling_luna: Ah oh course. When looking for a child to eat, you have to make sure that they ain't skin and bones. That wouldn't taste good would it? :)
@saint_sophie: Snag a big meaty one for me
@saint_sophie: Nope ^-^
If have the time and money, as well as if I married a wife who is barren and she wants to have kids, yes I would adopt.

Same.
And I honestly wouldn't wanna go through pregnancy. =/
I really want to have a kid of my own, since having family is a huge priority for me, but in the event that I get married, I will only adopt if me and my wife are unable to naturally make a newborn.
