Would an alien invasion solve racism and sexism?

Imagine that an Alien Empire seeking to take control of Earth's resources arrive in 2014. The United Nations fought them to a stalemate, and the Alien Empire knows not to continue nuclear warfare if they wish to colonize Earth.

Now, Putin, Obama, Cameron, Hollande, and Xi Jinping manage to negotiate a truce. The Aliens take over Africa, most of South America, and Australia. Half of the world nations are now effectively stuck in a Cold War with the Alien Empire.

What follows? Do the surviving human nations set differences aside and create a coalition of sorts? Or will everyone keep hating on each other?

I would just kick back an watch it all get flushed away.

Throw in Aldo Novas fantasy and burn one till i get 86ed by some super advanced anti human raid spray.

I think people always need something to hate, and that something would be the aliens instead of other people.

But sexism would prolly still exist, and it will stay that way until men wear pink aprons.

Probably not. Even after 200 years of toppling dictators, civil rights movement, combating terrorism, and immigration, the people of the United States still cannot solve racism and sexism.

It's a classic. You take some minority, you put them in power, and they end up dependent on you so much that their only interest is to make you happy.

I agree with this; nothing would change; the people that are more well off would simply try to find ways to exploit the aliens to increase their status; if anything, it would probably set things back thousands of years, after a period of transition for the reality of the aliens to acclimate into the human society. It might change if the aliens had a better system of justice; they'd seek to defend the disadvantage but this would probably lead to a resumption of the war, where the well off would be unwilling to accept their resolutions for the problems. How about having the aliens base themselves in the United States while everywhere else stays the same, as it appears that the United States was the ones at war with the aliens?

It would have been reasonable to believe that in a extreme situations where humanity is their last toes like in Gears of War, where women fight on the side of men because they need every able body available to fight.

Althought that is dependent on the kind of scenario.

Back on topic, I think if the Aliens actually intend to colonize Earth, they would use divide-and-conquer tactics. For example, they could arm and train the backwards nations of Africa and ensure their loyalty to the Alien Empire, also spreading anti-UN propaganda, anti-Western, anti-Christianity etc. Thus, they even worsen racism and prejudice.

But, the war ended in a stalemate already; why would they not simply try to integrate into the human population? They would see the inequalities and try to influence them, whether it be for the better or for the worse. Depending on their prospective of things they'd either seek to aid the disadvantage or further burden the disadvantage.

Ok, so, in a way, they'd be aiding the disadvantage, even if they're using the disadvantage as fodder in their fight against the more well off nations; so, this population could continue to live in poverty or join the aliens; they would only be fodder if the war resumed; I guess the aliens would use the fighting among humans for their intelligence gathering; so, initially, in might help the disadvantage, but make things worse for the disadvantage if the aliens were ultimately to loss, after resuming the war; but, I don't see why the aliens would not simply be gathering intelligence for their home world and planning to bring in reinforcements to than overwhelm the Earth, where the disadvantage would be spared for aiding the aliens; it would help in terms of racism; it would than influence sexism as a function of the alien culture.

The UN could never fight an advanced alien civilization to a stalemate.

This isn't considering the fact that the aliens could be just as racist/sexist as humans or even more so.

In terms of human racism and sexism, probably not, it would most likely push us to insanity where these problems are even more prominent.
