The Worst and the best hollywood Film Directors working today?
Who do you think is the best and the worst hollywood film director working in hollywood today? and why?
Quentin Tarantino - He's my all-time favourite director. He's done Pulp Fiction, Resevoir dogs. Recently done Kill Bill, Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained.
Martin Scorcese - Classics of his include Goodfellas and Casino (both favourites of all time). As of recently he's done Shutter Island and The Departed (a favourite of all time). EDIT: another recent one of his is Wolf of Wall Street. Film of 2013 for me.
Christopher Nolan - The Dark Knight Trilogy. Also done awesome movies like the prestige, inception and memento (a favourite).
Edgar Wright - The Cornetto Trilogy. Also did Scott Pilgrm vs the world which was awesome.
Judd Apatow - He's at least been a producer in almost all my favourites of the decade: he was the producer/writer for films like superbad, anchorman, forgetting sarah marshall, pineapple express, step brothers). He's directed 40 year old virgin, knocked up and This Is 40. He's the king of comedy in hollywood today.
M Night Shyamalan - He went too far up his own ass. After awesome movies like the sixth sense and unbreakable he got too cocky. He's recently done the last airbender, the happening and after earth
Michael Bay - 3 words. The transformers trilogy (though the third wasn't as terrible).
Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer - Disaster movie, Epic movie and Vampires Suck. Only one I came close to liking was meet the spartans and I know it's bad.
Best director: Steven Spielberg, James Cameron
Worst: Shymalan and too many others.
I wouldn't call Micheal Bay a hack. Hacks are people that have 0 talent. He is actually excellent in what he specializes in, action choreography and of course explosions (lol). A Hack variant of Bay would be someone like Jonathan Liebesman.
