@Raiiyn: Thanks for your input. I've always been curious if it was a choice thing or just different perceptions for each person, so this was enlightening.
Women what do you loo for in men

I will assume you are tall then because of your response. There were never any issues because of the difference in height? Even from behind, people could mistake the girl for a child when standing beside someone so tall. I have dated tall men and never felt comfortable standing beside them but many of my girlfriends prefer tall men so I am pretty sure I am in the minority here in my preference.
More common than not, short girls are regarded as cute but its great you see it differently. To be fair, when a short girl is all decked out with 5 inch heels, then being thought of as "hot" could be possible. Another problem with being short is the appearance of looking younger than you really are.
I feel compelled to wear make-up just to make me look older.
I'm a 6-footer, so I'm not too tall and not too short. Some say I'm 6'1" but I don't think I'm quite there. The shortest woman I've dated was between 5'4" and 5'5", while the tallest was about 5'7". So, I've never had any issues. I generally assumed that most women wanted a man that was around my height. I somewhat agree with you on the cute girl thing, even though there are some that were exceptional.
Nothing is better than natural beauty, though.

Ok ladies "and men I guess" I have to ask is it better to be sexy or cute.
I fall into cute, I'm far to awkward and geeky to be sexy and I accept that.
If you are monogamous, and fall into either one of those categories, then you'll get snatched up in due time.

I wouldn't mind a new Girl friend, but I am to young to be married "no offense to young married couples" at 20 that all seems so far off. I thought it was a good question XD
Few things I look for in a man:
- intelligent, with IQ's in the "bright normal" range.
- did poorly in school
- have trouble holding down jobs
- tend to come from markedly unstable families
- are abandoned by their fathers and raised by domineering mothers as children
- families often have criminal, psychiatric and alcoholic histories
- hate their fathers and mothers
- abused as children — psychologically, physically and sexually. Often the abuse is by a family member
- spend time in institutions as children and have records of early psychiatric problems
- have high rates of suicide attempts
- intensely interested in voyeurism, fetishism, and sado-masochistic pornography
- fascinated with fire starting
- involved with sadistic activity or tormenting small creatures
I probably sound weird O_o

Eh, I'm moderately unimpressed.
In my mind, I just got the sudden image of those tv episodes where the plot is about an old guy(usually) who tells stories claiming to have been someone famous, or a star, back in the day in order to seek attention. But the grandkids he's telling it to are moderately ambivalent - not to mention skeptical - and ultimately roll their eyes while fighting back a yawn because they are...

LOL. Huh!? Seriously? I'm 25.
Real talk meaning 'seriously, honestly, truthfully'.
Anyway, what have I said in the past that would make you think that I'm as young as you thought? O_o
Then why not just say "seriously, honestly, truthfully" or "guilelessly, factually, legitimately, reliably, righteously, sincerely, straightforwardly"...or any of a hundred other synonyms that would make you sound moderately intelligent?
What made you sound so young to me is that your writing lacks variety...like a child's.

I didn't feel like using either of those words. It's not like I don't know what they mean or that I haven't used them before. I used whatever came to mind first, which was a slang term that I normally use among my peers. I don't have to sound intelligent 100% of the time, when most of the people here already know that I am. I'm in a internet forum. I'm not typing an essay, speaking in a seminar, or being interviewed by an employer. I don't have to be professional here. There's no reason to put up a front for anyone here, especially when I'm in a setting where I can be myself, just as if I'm among my peers, face to face.
@Roxanne Starr said:

I'm pretty positive that an eight year old doesn't even know what 'real talk' means. When I was that age, I didn't even know slang existed. Another thing, there's a multitude of people my age and older that use the very same terms I do.
My writing lacks variety to you because you don't read my posts often. Or, maybe it's because it's the first time you've seen anyone use that term. It doesn't make me less intelligent. It just means that the world is a lot bigger than you thought it was.
Perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to judge.
A man who is honest > A man who "says all the right things."
A man with integrity > A man with humor.
A man who displays courtesy > A man who walks all over others because he feels he must be the alpha male.
A man who is strong enough to heed his lady's wishes > A man who is acquiescent to the wishes of his friends and peers.
A man who respects women and does not use derogatory words no matter what.
@Roxanne Starr:
To be perfectly honest, I think that using one's choice of words as an indicator as to a person's age is a very poor method. It's all a matter of choice.
For me, I judge more on spelling. Not so much grammar, but when spelling is seriously off (not just typos, outright spelling errors), it makes me ponder.

Come on, let's not cut down mods in the forums. Plus having just recently become a mod it might not be apparent just how much SS does for the community, but its a lot. The guy is a workhorse.

If that's the case, why are most of the girls that get guys to look at them look worse than Paris Hilton?
It makes girls like me actually think of joining convents since it seems guys are more attracted to plastic than probably an overweight girl with a nice personality.
Eh, I don't think that's true.
http://ca.askmen.com/dating/curtsmith_600/629_curvy-women.html
It's mostly about the hip to waist ratio, regardless of the size(not to mention culture, this is evolutionary as studied by Anthropologists). This idea that guys dig super skinny girls is fabricated by the fashion industry, and only true to those who put special emphasis on what the fashion media thinks. The only men who may fall into that bull are the high class men who actually can date models and do so as an extension/validation of their social status. And women fall into this trap because they actually pay attention to what the fashion media says.
The emphasis, for most guys, is on girls have fat in the right places proportional to the rest of their body.
This, is true.

Hmmm what if the woman uses derogatory words for men? Like, does it go both ways?
For example, one of my best friends is a girl. We joke around a lot and make fun of each other. She's called me a douche several times, though its generally not meant seriously.(I never actually call her a bitch or anything) Is that okay of her?

Not exactly.
I was slightly offended by your assumption of me, not because I thought it was true, and your attempt at belittling me because I used a term you didn't understand or never heard before. Judging someone's age or intelligence based on their choice of words is a very ignorant thing to do. You embarrassed yourself, based on that.

Just apply the idea to women as well.
Let's be honest...for men or women we can run down a list of things they want in a partner but it almost never goes down like that. Physical attraction and sex dominate decisions about relationships alot more then they don't. There are tons of women out there that will ignore your lack of intelligence and honesty for good looks and a big pipe.

Believe me, I am not ashamed of what I said.
Reveling in a culture that frowns on exceptionalism and rewards laziness with all types of entitlements (not the least of which is tolerating linguistic short-cuts as the norm) is what has brought this country to the sad state that it is in at the moment.

Physical appearance matters... It may not be the most important thing, but it matters.
QFT
@lykopis: I don't know about attraction developing over time... If there isn't at least a spark of physical attraction prior to getting to know someone... I don't see one developing simply because you get to know someone better? I mean like I said earlier, the biggest turn on for me is a guy who can me laugh. Like tears in my eyes, stomach hurting kind of laugh... but that doesn't mean that I will be attracted to anyone who can do this? Or someone is capable of doing this is someone who I do not find physically appealing but is someone I know well is someone I would become attracted to?
Looks matter. Everyone has a different taste when it comes to looks too. I myself happen to be a sucker for blue or green eyes, dark hair and a nice smile. But then again, sometimes out of the blue I just fall for a guy with the blackest of eyes and hair.. which is something I don't normally do?
I guess what I am saying is, it doesn't really matter exactly what you are looking. The fact of the matter is, there is going to be something, it's usually physical, sometimes emotional, but just something that is going to instantly draw you to someone, whether or not that person fits into your pretty list of what you want in the perfect man/woman.
@Raiiyn: Absolutely agreed. I cannot be interested in a girl that doesn't look like she takes care of her physical appearance. I'm not saying that they go overboard with make-up, implants, etc, but so long as they care what they look like matters to me. Honestly, I really have no preference when it comes to how girls look, but the very fact that they care about it matters. I'm sure that girls feel the same way about guys in one way or another. Why go for the dude who looks like a truck wizard when you can go for the guy who's clean-cut and sharply dressed?
