@jmarshmallow: I just don't see the point.
Why i say Beata
@spidey_jackson: No problem, man :)
@spidey_jackson: No problem man :)
@jmarshmallow: I just don't see the point.
This metaphor might be a bit outdated, but I'm going to do it anyway.
Have you ever written a letter before? I know that it's an archaic form of communication, but it's one that I personally find to be both personal and convenient. Maybe you've mailed a birthday card? You get the point.
Anyway, when you write a letter and mail it, your name, address, etc. are all on the envelope, so everybody who sees it knows who you are.
But most people, despite the fact that the recipient knows who the letter is from, still sign their name at the bottom of the page, usually following something along the lines of "From", or "With Love", etc.
Why do they do that? Well, formality is one thing. But personally, I think it goes a little deeper than that.
I think it's because the person signing the letter is taking ownership of the letter.
It's the writer's way of saying "I wrote this, it's from me, and I take full responsibility of everything that's written on it." Whether it be a letter of love, discontent, information, or a death threat, the writer is telling the recipient that he is the one who wrote it, and he meant every bit of what he wrote.
Well, for me personally, it's the same thing.
When I put Jmarshmallow, it's because I'm saying that I take full responsibility of everything I posted. They're my words, and I stand behind them fully.
Maybe it seems silly to you, maybe it doesn't. But regardless, there's my reasoning, take it or leave it.
Jmarshmallow
@jmarshmallow: I didn't expect you to have any reasoning at all, so while it still seems unnecessary to me, I won't be so annoyed now. Interesting.

Come on now Jay, gotta give me a little bit more credit than that!
Jmarshmallow
@jmarshmallow: You'll get no such thing out of me! :p
Jayc1324

@jmarshmallow: @spidey_jackson: what does it mean if you post a post without your signature?
Jmarshmallow
@chaos911: Expect the worst.
Beata
@jmarshmallow: @spidey_jackson: what does it mean if you post a post without your signature?
Jmarshmallow
@spidey_jackson: Nice to know what that means. I mean I still hate it. Probably even more now. Thanks for for both educating and fueling my hate. 10/10 but also 0/10
@cuddlebear: Care to explain your resentment?
Beata
@cuddlebear: Care to explain your resentment?
Beata
I am too busy typing Beata over and over and over and over again pages and pages and pages. Its all I see when you speak. Also I am just pulling your chain comrade. But seriously I hate it.

So it's Taco Night at Uncle Gunther's house?
@thitiki: Jealousy is the ugliest trait y'know ;D
Beata
@spidey_jackson: There is nothing to be jealous of..
@thitiki: It's ok friend. Be at peace.
Beata
@sacredweapons: The funny thing is HE was the first person to ever ask me.
Beata
I'm female, and we don't have history.
@squares: Well.......that's akward.
I don't know about that. You seem to have a problem with me despite the fact i've never done anything to you. So tell me, what's up?
Beata
I was going to have a signature that said "KILL ALL HUMANS, HAIL ULTRON, HAIL HYDRA, DOWN WITH EVERYBODY ELSE!" and all that sarcastic stuff but I knew the mods were going to throw rocks at me if I did so I dropped it. :|
@spidey_jackson: I don't like you, but I don't have a problem with you. That would require actively caring about you.
@squares: Ouch. So you're just a crabby person in general?
Beata
@spidey_jackson: I can be.
@squares: Well ok. Sorry about the gender swap.
Beata
@sovereign91001: And yet you took the time to comment. How sweet! :P

Purely out of boredom.

I never really wondered why you had a signature in all your posts but this is some solid reasoning.
