Why I like the longsword more than the katana

It's not just for cutting, almost every part of the weapon is good for something. The katana is a specialized weapon, excellent for cutting, whereas the the longsword is more of a multi-purpose tool. The longsword can be used to preform all sorts of attacks and defenses, making it an effective weapon against all sorts of enemies. It also looks better, but that's just personal preference.

I prefer the rapier, a quick cut that gets the job done faster.

The Turco-mongolian saber is my sword of choice. FANTASTIC hacking and slashing power, a serious intimidation factor (Those things just LOOK scary!), and the perfect weapon for cavalry/horse based combat.

Yeah I like the Katana better. Longswords do look cooler for the most part IMO but I think in a battle I would prefer to have a razor sharp katana.

Knife. Easily concealable and in the hands of a professional just as deadly.

I prefer the force

I prefer a shovel. Doubles as a blunt weapon and a cutting weapon. Not to mention in a pinch you can make a mean sandcastle. Granted there need to be beaches nearby when you attempt this.

I haven't been in that many sword fights to choose a favourite tho.

If a katana is good enough for the Highlander...then it's good enough for me.

I'm not exactly a master swordsman, but I prefer wielding a katana, and I like the look of it more too.

Katana- Shorter, More control, Sharper. Can be lighter.
