Thanks.
Even though some of the movies aren't scary. But good :)
Hellraiser is a masterpiece.
Someone never seen Let the Right one in
Thinking the same thing.
OP needs to get into independent and foreign horror.
Inbox or tag me I can recommend some horror movies from my collection.
@never_give_up: I just mean that it's always a ghost,never anything else.Hopefully the new Predator movie will start a trend.
@goatzilla: i agree with you, i really dislike horror movies so far. Don't ask why
I love horror movies but I can't watch it because of the side effect; I can't sleep at night after I watch one. I get too paranoid

That's always happen to me but I just can't stop :P
I embrace the genre as a whole, everything has a place in it in my opinion. Normally I'd rage against found-footage but when I think about it for more than 2 seconds I realise it has actually produced many fine films. In the 80's people were speaking out against the slasher and wishing for a return to supernatural stories, you just can't please people...

You need to watch more then.
Hellraiser is a masterpiece.
Also, this. So much this.
I don't like horror movies because I'm not a fan of entertainment that is dark in nature, and disturbing things get to me pretty easily. I'll never understand how people are more offended by sexual content than they are by violent and disturbing content. There are a handful of scary movies I somewhat enjoy, such as Insidious and The Conjuring, but that's about it. I don't mind jump scares or anything, but I don't enjoy most horror movies due to their disturbing storylines and content.
@never_give_up: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predator_(franchise
"The Predator film series is a science fiction horror film franchise."
It could be considered a horror.
@black_wreath: Spoken like a true meanie bum heheh :D

Nope.
You never see it in someone's horror collection.
It's Sci Fi Action
I usually don't like the possession movies but thought Exeter was pretty good. And just watched a horror\comedy Spanish movie called Bitchin and Witchin it's on netflix if that you kind of thing check it out its really good imo.
@never_give_up: If it has anything to do with the supernatural,then nope.

The Den isn't supernatural.
You have to open up your mind.
You're missing out on good movies.
Horror is (and this is my opinion) such a boring genre. They aren't scary, rarely thrilling, and don't really drawn some of the good social commentary the more classic horror films have. These days it's mostly gore porn, or low-budget shock value.
I know there are horror fans, and to each their own. You want to watch horror? Go watch horror. I don't, I've given up on it. There seem to be dozens on Netflix, and I've tried a handful, but they never seem any good. My father is a horror fanatic, and even growing up I've just...never gotten it. But if you love it, enjoy it. There are movies I love that I know people think are dumb (Shoot'em Up for example) and I don't mind it.
It's taste. Not mine personally, but someone out there is going to like it.
@claymore1998: Wes Craven called his films "boot camp for the brain", it seems you need more training.
Get watching, poozer! :P
Tbf the majority of more recent horror films are absolutely abysmal and pointless, that doesn't mean it is a bad genre though. There are a lot of good horror films, I'm not much of a horror fan but Alien is pretty much my favourite film ever. Every now and then a great original monster/slasher comes along.
It's the same d@mn thing every time!Oh i'm sorry did you want a new slasher or monster film?TOO BAD.You get stupid,badly made,ghost/demon/possession crap,or whatever they call it.And the worst part is,people love it,they can't get enough!Please help stop this crap.Together,we can bring back Jason,Freddy,Predator,and all your favorites!
Good Ghost/Demon/Possession Movies:
The Blair Witch Project
The Exorcist
The ORIGINAL Poltergeist
Unfriended
Paranormal Activity 4 and The Marked Ones
Drag Me To Hell
Night of the Demons
Evil Dead Trilogy
This whole comment just seems like a purely emotional rant without any real thought behind it to be perfectly honest.
@spideyivydaredevilfan26: I agree.
@never_give_up: I'll give it a watch.
@spideyivydaredevilfan26: Half those movies are crap.Also my point was that I miss other genres and am sick of ghosts and related stuff.So please tell me,how haven't I put thought behind it?Think before you act.
I think its beginning to die down, we are getting at least 3 decent horror movies before 2016 that aren't strictly recycled paranormal/ghost crap, we just got a Christmas Horror Story, we are getting Tales Of Halloween in a few days, and Krampus in December. They aren't strictly slashers either, but it sure as hell beats another half assed possession movie, IMO.

Why are they crap?
Please help stop this crap.
@hyiena: That movie was hilarious! Alex de La Iglesia is the best. I recommend The Last Circus since you liked Witching and B!tching.
On a side note, OP; don't you think the paranormal horror movies could be good if they went for an action horror aesthetic? Like Insidious Chapter 3 for example. Elise is set up as this sort of paranormal superhero.
Think The Covenant except actually good.
@shiryu: they kinda did that to a degree with The Marked Ones, Jesse was basically a supervillain.
@spideyivydaredevilfan26: Sounds cool. I might have to check it out.
Thanks.
@spideyivydaredevilfan26: I said only half of them are.
@blade_r: But now we run the risk of having the horror genre inundated with Christmas gimmick films.
@blade_r: But now we run the risk of having the horror genre inundated with Christmas gimmick films.
Well we only have two as of now (Christmas Horror Story and Krampus) but I doubt it will catch on too much, maybe around the winter times of year but I doubt it would be all year around nonsense, though Michael Dougherty did say he is trying to get Krampus out because a lot of other people have Krampus related stuff in the works too so who knows? I could see it being a seasonal fad at the most. I am just very worn out of the paranormal/possession stuff at the moment so just about anything that isn't that feels like a breath a fresh air to me at this point lol
@spideyivydaredevilfan26: I said only half of them are.
Okay. Which films are crap and why do you consider them such?
@shiryu: Thanks I will check it out.
To me, horror types get popular by the decade. The 80s were about slashes like Michael, Jason, Freddy. The 90's were about self referential films like Scream and IKWYDLS. The 2000s were about suspense, and now, demons/ghosts are the rage. Nothing new.
@spideyivydaredevilfan26: You want me to go through about half the horror movies you picked and give a specific reason as to why i thought so?

Going through 4 or 5 movies and just kindly telling us why you hate them so much? Yes, and quite frankly, if they are all so obviously horrible, I don't see what is so difficult about pointing out WHY they are so bad.

OP seems to like slashers he can easily look up slasher films lol.
Haters gonna hate
@spideyivydaredevilfan26: Ok I will,in a little.I can't right now.
