Why do we have 5 minutes to delete a post now?

Exactly like the titles says. What if we want to delete them? Do we have to ask them to go back and delete it now?

Sometimes when I'm scrolling through old threads I delete dumb things I might have said but now I'm going to have to edit them into blackness. I'm going to miss having that freedom..
