Why do some mods lock threads without saying the reason?

Happen to me many times, i just wonder why?

Provide the threads that were locked and I'll tell you why.

Anywho, you're expected to have had read the rules before making a battle thread. If your thread was locked then it was in violation of the rules, and chances are that if you read them you would know why exactly it was locked.

Edit: Just to clarify, you need to read the rules before making ANY thread, not just a battle thread. I just assumed it was a battle thread.

Because 75% of locked threads are so dumb that they really just explain why themselves.

Sometimes its obvious (You have rules sticked at the top of forums). Though it is helpful sometimes.

Just when you've spent four years on this website then decide to create a new account, you think you've seen it all. Reminded me why I stopped going onto the Off-Topic Forum way back when, especially when all these offensive and idiotic topics started.

They should. At the very least, it's a missed opportunity for educating those who might need examples of what constitutes a ban worthy thread.

(edit, I mean lock worthy and not just to the OP, but anyone who comes across it)

I think the answer has been adressed already, but some threads can be hilariously idiotic to the point where the mod thinks you wanted your thread locked on purpose.

Its because the mods here are petty losers, whose only real and power and authority in life is on some internet website so they exercise fickle behavior randomly locking threads for no good reason or justification flaunting their little power, refusing to be reasonable by explaining why they decided to lock your "Why are black people allowed to vote?" and "Why do I find my brother pet dog attractive, is it because he is a feminist or is flatulence?" and "Nazi's: Misunderstood?" threads.

I personally like to post on threads I lock, most of the time, it gives me a chance to say why I am locking the thread but also and more importantly it gives me the chance for some smart-ass sarcastic comment. Like a sad and lonely amateur comedian who needs an outlet for never actually being successful or funny.

If you are curious about why a thread is locked just PM a moderator if its important to you. Check the comments as well, sometimes threads are dupes and user has already linked in preexisting thread, check around the forums, sometimes users make dupe threads or a bunch of threads have been locked. Commenting on every single one would be silly. Sometimes the thread being locked should be obvious.
