Why do people come to a comic forum for life advice?

They don't have anywhere else to go, they want advice from strangers, or they want advice from more than one person.

Because people who read comics are people like anyone else in the world.

Why not? It's called "Off-Topic" meaning nothing about Comics. That's like asking "Why do people talk about political issues on a comic forum?"

They want attention.

No, but I do tend to ask friends, which is what I believe a lot of people here see each other as.

They come on here for advice because they feel it is not a bad place to ask for it. I mean most people on here are teenagers or young adults probably like from 15 to around 24m and in that age we could have a lot of the same problems. And advice is one of those things you can ask on here and get some decent answers. Of course you have your usual internet keyboard warrior people who post the "Jimmies Rustled" meme all day on here and think they're cool. But other then that you can get some alright advice on here.

My pal @humanrocket is a therapist. A lousy one though. :)

Why not ask for advice? This can be a good place because it's anonymous (if you want it to be).

Well for one it's free...

you can ask random things to a large group of people who have different personality's and interest as opposed to some people you know.

Becasue some people can give life advice. Not everyone on this site is a little kid with zero real life experience.

The diversity on this site is underrated.

If you're not using all resources properly you never know what will happen.

I'll personally will ask for advice from where ever I please.

I've seen that in all the forums that are both successful and got the equivalent of a off-topic section.
