Why do people believe Bruce Lee was just an actor?

I honestly don't understand it. Bruce Lee is probably the most influential martial artist ever, even going against traditional martial arts and developing his own martial art, Jeet Kune Do (Way of the Intercepting Fist). Not only that, but he was ripped as f#ck and trained every day of his life and has feats such as the two fingered push up and his one inch punch. He was clearly legit.

Because people love to bash things that are popular, and due to dying in the 70's there's not any real proof other then a few grainy videos of his prowess floating about.

As for the thread - the same could be said vise-versa. They are a lot of people who claim Bruce Lee is G.O.A.T when he is basically a featless fighter.

What feats does Bruce Lee has that says something about his actual skill, in combat? Who has he actually beat that grants any real merit to his "G.O.A.T claims? What reputable Martial Arts tourney's did he actually win?

I never said you did, specifically. I was talking about in general, or specifically the people that claim he's the MMA tantamount to what Ali is to boxing.....

...and that's where the main problem comes in at. Sure Lee was a skilled martial artist, but he doesn't have the showing for him to be mentioned anywhere near the greats like Silva, or anyone of the like.

@dccomicsrule2011: Funny you should mention Ali. Bruce Lee was actually a big fan of Muhammud Ali and studied his movements. He even integrated some of it into Jeet Kune Do. Muhammud Ali later admitted that he wished he met Bruce Lee and truly respected him.

@dccomicsrule2011: I don't even want to look for any feats anymore, lol. I don't think they're needed anyway, cause I pretty much agree with what you said. He's skilled and could beat a fair amount of fighters today(not the top fighters, mind you), but he's famous for his movies and what he's contributed to the martial arts society, not because he's some unbeatable fighter.

Why the vine dislikes Bruce Lee: He doesn't have as many feats as today's MMA fighters.

Why he deserves respect: He believed in spreading martial arts knowledge and sharing it with others. This was taboo where he was from. He could be considered one of the exponential catalyst of MMA, as he was one of the major faces that promoted it and helped it grow.

Truth be told, Bruce Lee doesn't have as much fighting feats to be on the battle board, but he does have a philosophical way of spreading his beliefs that anyone and everyone can learn self discipline in martial arts

That's what makes me love Bruce Lee. He didn't join in tournaments to prove that he was the best, he only wanted to prove to himself that he was the best. Not only that, but he wanted to teach an entire new generation martial arts so they could be just as great as he was! Bruce was not only an incredible martial artist but he was very intelligent in philosophy and human anatomy, and all around a very mature person. No matter how many people surpass him in skill, I will always consider him the best.

He did invent JKD and that is a working and respected Eclectic fighting style and his body was over the top strong... I have tried many times to do the 2 finger push up and i never did it and i am considered to be in great shape...

Nobody trains every day of their life, fam. Most of us can't even walk till we're at least a few months old.
