Why do feminists want to kill chivalry?

Why do woman treat me like I'm a douchebag for being chivalrous? I'm not doing it to get into there panties or because I feel obligated as a man. I do it because I want to but I'm vilified for it every time.

It's been dead for awhile now. It was still limping along in the 90's but it got knocked out, tied up, and put in some feminists trunk without anyone noticing.

Because feminism was initially used to gain equal rights for women like to vote etc... But it is a train that has no brakes, so it keeps going even though it doesn't need to.

I think the objection is just the idea of getting unneeded weird special treatment based on sex/gender. It can be a bit patronising.

It's easily solved though. Rather than reserving manners for women, extend them to everybody. :)

Keep in mind, feminism exists on spectrum. The feminist on the extreme end will take the most meaningless things and interpret them as subjugation.

Read some comments from articles about Eliott Roger (guy who went on the UCSD shooting spree) Then you start to realize how off the deep end and silly the logic of some feminist are. Mistaking mental illness for mysogany. Thinking that men should not improve themselves because "it is manipulative to women" and men that are socially inept should remain as Pariahs. I have seen people high on acid use better logic than most extreme feminist.

The more moderate ones who are honestly trying to elimate actual gender discrimination (like pay disparity between genders) I can jive with that)

It's not chivalry, it's courtesy.

Because men shouldn't need chivalry to woo women, they're just fine without receiving complements and opening doors themselves. Being a gentleman lost its way when people started spitting feminism everywhere
