Why can't english peeps pronounce Montréal correctly?

Is it the flag or something?

This is America, we speak American, take that flag and language back to Mexico where it belongs

Cause in America, we use all the letters in a word to pronounce it. (Well, mostly.)

The nt is understated, or silent if you're lazy. Roll the r. The e makes an "ay" sound. Emphasis on the final syllable.

I have a heck of a time saying it like a francophone. I have a stiff English mouth.

Montréal is in America and French is a spoken language in America (In fact it was there before english).

Montréal = Mount Royale.

Countries have different ways of pronouncing names. In America we don't acknowledge the accent over the "e" and create a long "a" sound. Its just Montreal to us. Not a big difference anyway.

In French the US is États-Unis, so every language does things differently.

Why do foreigners say America (which is the name of the land) when the country is called the United States? That's just the way it is.

@jayc1324: First of all that's a other bad example and second of all it's has nothing to do with translating. If they tryed to translate it the name would be Roy-Mount.
