It's honestly really annoying seeing people do nothing but text. Just look up and have a real conversation with someone. Cell Phones are a very useful thing but it shouldn't be your life
Why are people addicted to their cell phones?
Because they are unthinking sheep whom like being controlled by pop culture trends.
Right on, dude.
. . .
Honestly, who cares?
People have the right to do what they want to do in their free time, and as long as it isn't hurting anyone. I don't see the problem with it, and neither should you, or anyone else for that matter.
The cell phones I'd owned until maybe three years ago were incredibly old-school, then I discovered Comicvine accidentally. Then my two bestfriends got their first androids. Then, I found out you could access the vine from you're android. Then I was fked.

Yep.
Because it is awesome.
I am totally addicted to my cell phone, when i dont have access to my laptop =)

Yep.
Yep x2
When you're alone in a waiting room or something it's understandable, but when you're standing in front of someone you know, facing them, it's just rude.
Because being able to traverse the World Wide Web, a database with a nearly unlimited amount of information, the link between everything we don't know and everything we can find out, and being able to access that on a mobile device is a huge advancement in society today?
That, or Angry Birds.
Jmarshmallow

Yep, more or less that.
@legacy6364: Yes. I do.

It's ok. I hate people too.
I still have a flip phone. Needless to say, I'm not a phone addicted zombie.
I have an Iphone and I'm barely on it but to be that behind on a phone is just sad. It doesn't make you a zombie to at least having a phone from the last 5 years. o.o

Eh, it seems like a waste of money. I only have my phone for emergencies.

That makes some sense I suppose but even then it seems like an updated phone would be more reliable for emergencies.
@wildvine: I got tickets to the Hyperbowl if your interested

I get what you mean, but the phone itself is only about a year old, so it's still got a good battery. I'd say it's pretty reliable for making a few calls every now and then.

I see if it's only a year old but then I have to ask why you chose to get that instead of a android or iphone type?

Because they're expensive and mine was only $20 something dollars. I think if I got another gadget, I'd want an ipad. Those are awesome, but it's also something I don't really need.

Don't troll if you can't take it.
@wildvine: But...But..I cute !
@kittyparker13: I wanted an Ipad to until I saw the price which was a little ridiculous for me!
Thanks for the follow btw. :)
@thitiki: Ditto, my brother has one and it's awesome. But, ouch @ the price-tag.
No prob, you're always cool to talk to.

As someone who is a bit of a tech nerd, I don't get people who don't want smartphones. Yeah, you can get by with an old fashioned phone, but a smartphone is the internet, a map, a calculator, a clock, a calendar, a music player, a way to watch videos, a camera and a gaming device all in one large , nice screen. We're in 2014, it's time to upgrade people!
It's easy to criticize people for overusing their phones when you can't afford a decent phone yourself. For the most part I read comics, listen to music, use my calculator for work, google map locations, look up movie schedules and events, order food and text my girlfriend on breaks. I have enough real life friends and acquaintances to know I don't need more, hence using the phone to eliminate idle conversation. Take the hint.
@sesquipedalophobe: I never said that cell phones and texting are bad things. They're very useful things. but people overuse them.
