Whoa... Juan Manuel Marquez KO's Manny Pacquiao in the 5th Round
He's my 2nd favourite current boxer after Ward. I thought he won the last one, glad he closed this one out. With the way it was going (87 head shots to Marquez), it was a matter of time before he got caught right quick, but he made a mistake and slept.
Pacquiao isn't done though. As for the fight with Mayweather, I always said Mayweather would win but I haven't been interested in that fight for a long time now. I'd rather see him fight Martinez at 160 lbs.
I was rooting for Marquez, but man he was getting beat just before that knockout. Great to see him get one over Manny. Don't know if Mayweather vs Pacquiao will happen still, but would still like to see it despite this.
Not sure about the possibility of a fight between Pacquio and Mayweather but I do think that was one crazy knockout and I did not see it coming.
It's funny how every time Marquez was knocked down, he came back and scored enough points to a draw, or made it a close fight, but when he did it to Manny the fight ended. Finally, justice has been served.
Marquez knocked him down in the 3rd, and Pacquiao came back relatively strong. It's funny how every time Marquez was knocked down, he came back and scored enough points to a draw, or made it a close fight, but when he did it to Manny the fight ended. Finally, justice has been served.
@Sexy Merc: Well, Manny didn't really "Came back"
Thinking back at the Cotto fight, Manny may have a chance at beating Floyd. There were some instances when Floyd seemed to have been in a predicament, and those were when he was cornered, that...or I don't remember the fight quite well anymore.
Didn't get a chance to see the fight, so I missed Pacman gettin KTFO. But as for Pacman and Floyd fighting, I agree with what Merc said, this should've happened a while ago. At this point (even before Manny gettin KTFO) I was starting to lose interest. Too much bullsh!ttin from them and their camps.

So even if Manny would have had a good showing against Marquez you guys still would not be interested in a Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight ? I find that a little hard to believe... I think Pac Man getting laid the fack out has a lot more to do with a lot of people's lack of desire to see this fight now then people are letting on.
Even if Manny had a good showing I would still be losing interest in a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight, because the fight still wouldn't happen, lol. They've dragged this sh!t out so long, how could one not begin to lose interest. Now if they were too fight would I watch it? Of course, anyone saying otherwise is lying.
Whoa! He got knocked out? I don't even watch Boxing that much and that's a shocker.
If Pacquiao would have won convincingly... then it would look as though Pac Man has got is spark back... that alone would rejuvenate interest in a potential superfight between Mayweather / Pacquiao... even if the battle was not imminent. I just can't believe all these n!ggas all of a sudden wanting to say they don't want to see a Pac Man / Mayweather fight now after the dude gets KO'ed. They was asking for the sh!t before then and believing Pac Man could win up until he got his ass flattened last night.@King Saturn said:

Pacquiao's jaw has been cracked, he'll fight again but it won't be the same. His aura of invincibility has been shattered. JMM needs to retire, no better way to go out than on top. If Floyd fights Pacquiao he'll punish him en route to a mid-to-late round tko, even if it's prime for prime Mayweather was always going to be the victor. He's too skilled. For those of you saying Cotto took him into deep waters as a means of justifying Manny's chances first consider the disparity in styles.
Cotto was the naturally bigger man in a fight contested at 154 lbs meaning he was able to bully Floyd in spots ala Baldomir 1, Cotto also possesses an all time great jab, the one tool which seems to trouble Floyd the most.(see ODLH fight) Not to mention Cotto's boxing IQ helped carry him down the stretch despite losing in spirited effort.
In contrast Manny is a much smaller guy. He has a garbage ass jab ,realistically it's cannon fodder used only for setting up the straight left. His other weapon the right hook(Manilla Ice) would be shoulder rolled after some adjusting/timing from Floyd and eventually counteracted . Pacquiao's style lends itself to reckless abandon, something a superior counterpuncher like Floyd thrives off of. If you thought JMM's laser right hands were lethal, imagine how often the most accurate boxer in the world would be landing the same move. The right hand is his money punch! They'd be like tidal waves crashing against rocks, over and over... eroding them away. He'd set traps for Manny all night. Ugly fight for Pacquiao imo.
