Michael Myers looks like he's ready to be a gardener. Leatherface is a tranny with dead person smell. I'll take Leatherface.

Micheal Myers wears a painted William Shatner mask

Leatherface is wearing someone elses actual face as a mask.

So, Leatherface.

Leatherface on paper sounds scary. But he really wasn't that scary. Though in real life, he would make me poop my pants. Myers was pretty scary in the movies. The music and suspense gives it to him. He also had brute strength and was never really dead. Michael Myers was basically a terminator.

2. He shrieks and howls

3. He wears a person's face

4. He's physically more intimidating

5. He has family to back him up.

Id say he is scarier because he could be someone who actually existed. And to this day I still see people insist that he is/was an actual person. Not many other characters have managed to have that impact.

Yeah pretty loosely. I can see where they got the inspiration from regarding his characteristics.

Just this one gives it to Leatherface. If you have the ability to run you can escape Michael Myers.

Is Leatherface's any better?

Id go with Leatherface because someone like that could easily exist/have existed (in a sense). He also likes to torture you while Michael usually kills pretty fast.

Leatherface,

More intimidating appearance, scarier weapon, wears a person's face, and he actually runs.

But Michael hands him his ass in a fight.

Both are like cute innocent teddy bears compared to Pyramid Head.

Leatherface is a relentless adrenaline rush of fright. Michael Myers benefits from the atmosphere in which he appeared. If I saw both of them while I'm in a large group of people, I'm naturally going to be more terrified of Leatherface. However, given the right circumstances, Michael's stealthy little "gotcha" appearances can be chilling (looking down a dark hallway, standing outside the window, etc...).

@sheenlantern: Him too. Though he was practically an antihero in that silly film's sequel. :D
