As a kid born in the 90's, tons of toys were put out, but the toy stood out the most was Action Man.
Seriously why did they stop making them? In this current time Action man would dominate the market.

To be honest, I don't remember him much at all. He sounds like was he was pretty big back in the day though.

I worked at a toy store, and well...sorry to disappoint you but not only could it be farther from
the truth, but Stretch Armstrong even outsold that one. the answer to why he isn't around
anymore is there as well. they did attempt a revival for the nostalgic fans and it fell flat.

Edit: to clarify what happened a little.
the vendors paid to have a pretty decent promotion going for AM, and he got it, but in the end
they all got packed back up and sent back to the vendors for credit (no joke, i think only 1 or
2 were even sold?). the reasoning here is this...

1.) take a good look at whats on the shelves today and stand AM next to it. does he measure up?
most kids would probably want something over that nowadays and most parents know it.
2.) the appeal of AM is to those older collectors looking to relive a moment past. the thing is though
most will not bother with newly released versions, and will instead invest more just to get the original
and more "authentic" figures. the same thing went down when Mattel tried to release the original sculpts
of the Masters Of The Universe figures on the open market, directly after bringing out the new Horsemen
of The Apocalypse sculpts. they died in the water because no collector wanted any business with anything
other than the real article.

I do remember that attempt, all I can say is...How hell do you expect sell action man without dr.X? That like selling shoes with no laces.

@Death Certificate:
sorry just the way it plays out in a market currently dominated by our comic heroes, and
Power Rangers of course. at least the projections that the rise of the video game killing
the plastic toy never came to fruition though. don't worry, i know how you feel. i'd give a nut
for them to re-release Inhumanoids, Boglins, and Dissect An Alien. and nothing wrong with
having a dream!

My He-Man figure was tricked into coming to the Dream House and being Barbies
cake on the side from Ken by my sister. I broke the head off every doll she owned in
revenge. He-man never looked the same after.

It was a European thing, right? I always viewed it as a crappy knockoff of GI Joe. He did have some interesting accessories, though.

I remember the short, crappy live action scenes. I also remember the bad guys using water guns spray painted. Like these were definitely high quality Super Soakers.
