Who makes better video games: DC or Marvel

who cares marvel have been owning dc on games for like 15 years were talking about now not the past grow guys some of yo think were in the 90s. both marvel and dc together have proved that superhereo movies can be the best movies if done properly. they have know were near done that with games i mean in games there mine craft, cod, gta, btf, fifa (which is actually terrible) and halo that are more mighty that any superheroe game. but dc have been proving that superheroe games can be good quite well especially this year 2013. marvel have not been doing anything to do that. dc games are just more amazing and popular. warner are just an amazing game company. they made a really good choice choosing warner. dc games are just much better. the instance batman arkham asylum cam out it owned all the marvel games with its amazing graphics and all that stuff to do. it was the best already. marvel have only made one game better than that one and that is lego marvel. dc have made lot's of games greater than that one. saying ultimate alliance is really good you have no proof and when ever has that game been advertised on ty r youtube pathetic exuce. saying marvel have more games who cares guys dc are still more successful

Marvel has several games that are good.

DC has one series that is fantastic.

Really depends what's better, quantity or quality.

DC crapstomps Marvel in games

The Arkham series is kinda hard to beat.

Dude,there no need to make your sentences all caps.Also,I did found Injustice a decent game.I enjoy both Marvel and DC game.

Both Companies have equal potential to make good and bad games.

Currently DC is on top due to the Arkham Series.

As of late..DC has been overshadowing Marvel in the quality of games being spawned from the company's characters. But over the years Marvel has consistently produced better games than DC with Spider-Man (PS1), Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction, X-Men Legends 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage, Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, X-Men(the arcade game), Spider-Man 2, and many others I'm sure I've forgotten.

Recently DC, consistently Marvel :/

Honestly, the best Marvel game I've ever played was from the 90's X-men arcade game. Now days, DC just owns Marvel in the vg world.

Batman games>>>Anything Marvel has. Second Batman game is arguably the best comic book game of all time currently, and I honestly believe Injustice was FAR better then MVC 3 was.

Marvel and DC do not make their own games, they license them.

Over the years, Marvel has had better developers than DC has, but both have had their share of poor games and good games.

DC's worst games:

• Superman (N64)
• Batman: Dark of Tomorrow
• Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis
• Superman: The Man of Steel (Xbox)
• And all of the DC movie games

Marvel's worst games:

• Fantastic Four (PS1)
• Iron Man X-O Manowar In Heavy Metal (Sega Saturn)
• Silver Surfer (NES)
• Marvel Nemesis
• And all of the Marvel Movie games (Save for Spider-Man 2... and maybe Spider-Man 3)

DC's best games:

• Batman Arkham Series
• Mortal Kombat vs DC
• Injustice: Gods Among Us
• DC Universe online
• Lego Batman

Marvel's best games:

• Marvel vs Capcom 2 (PS2 version is great, IMO, but the Arcade version is the best)
• Spider-Man 2
• Spider-Man Maximum Carnage
• Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
• Captain America and the Avengers (Arcade)

So, it just depends. I struggled finding good games for DC, but I could quickly think of bad Marvel games off the top of my head.

I prefer Marvel, however, mostly because of the Marvel vs Capcom series and many of the Spider-Man games (Spider-Man N64 is my favorite spider-man game). I generally find DC games to be mediocre at best. Batman Arkham Series has zero re-play ability, as I feel that once I beat it there is nothing left for me to do, other than the Predator and Combat missions, but they get repetitive. The supposed "Hardcore Gamers" claim that games like Injustice: Gods Among Us and Mortal Kombat vs DC are great games, but I disagree. I find the gameplay of those games gets boring and repetitive, and that they are mediocre games at best.

So, all in all, it just depends on what you like.

@106me: Interesting list, for the most part I agree although I'd add Justice League:Heroes to the good list personally. But I think honestly, as a fighting game enthusiast and hardcore gamer in that genre, MVC2 was a fun game but very broken with lots of infinites, MK vs. DCU was a great come back for NRS after the 3D MK games which disappointed a lot of fans and step in the right direction, but I do think personally both MK 9 and Injustice were better games then MKvsDC and MVC3 in my opinion at least, not just sales wise but feedback and fighting scene wise. Injustice is a great game, MK vs DC was not bad, I feel the same way about MVC series. To me they're all alike, and the last game I was very disappointed in honestly. But to each his own.

I'm still personally waiting and hoping we see a MK vs. SF game or DC vs. Marvel game. Chances of the former are higher I've read then the latter.

No way, Injustice and Batman games sold and were both more better received then MVC3 and most spiderman games sucked. Also got more rewards too.

Prefer Marvel as a whole more but DC makes better video games.

Green Lantern wasn't a bad game. Ok it wasn't a great game either, but I liked it.

@vaeternus: I'm not referring to Marvel vs Capcom 3. That game was a disappointment to many capcom fans.

I can tell that you are obviously referring to the newer Spider-Man games instead of the retro games. Yes, Injustice and Arkham beats some of the modern Spider-Man games, but they don't even come close to games like Maximum Carnage and Spider-Man and X-Men: Arcade's revenge. The only way Injustice and Arkham wins is by sheer graphics, dialogue, and cinematics, but I don't factor those because graphics are unfair advantages to all games.

I'm not a Microsoft or Sony sell out. That is why I believe that many games, such as Skyrim and Call of Duty and the new Trilogy of Halo are vastly overrated. They may be good games to their defense, but nonetheless they are still overrated.

I like the DC games more. Actually, most of DC's multimedia stuff is better. Though Marvel makes better comics by far...

That's tough, even though DC has the Arkham Games and Injustice, Marvel has some awesome ones too, like X-Men Origins Wolverine, Ultimate Spiderman, Spiderman 2, and Wolverine's Revenge.

I guess Marvel just because I grew up with more of those games.

Tried to make an even-ish list :P Web of Shadows is by far my favourite Spider-Man and Marvel game.

The first two arkham games are better than any marvel game, but besides injustice and arkham origins most of the rest of their games weren't that good. Marvel has had some pretty great spiderman and hulk games that I've played so I would say that they are better at making games because DC can only make good games involving batman

Not to take anything away from the Arkham series but these ones saying that it stomps anything Marvel has put out needs to take a reality check. The fact that the only real successful game DC has had lately is the Arkham games is actually a bad showing on their part because it's STILL not disproving the fact that DC can't sell unless it's Superman or Batman. Hell, speaking of Superman they can't even give him a proper game lawl. I liked Injustice but I got bored of it soon after finishing the campaign..Then again with Ed Boone behind it it's no surprise for me since I got bored of MK 9 too after a while as well.

MK vs DC was God awful so idk why people are bringing it up. I'd take Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 over MK vs DC any day that ends in y. On Marvel's side I did like Lego Marvel more than the Lego Batman games actually..and in Marvel's defense at least they try to put out games for different characters whereas I can't recall how many times DC's tried to make a game that didn't involve Batman(not counting Injustice). I hate how Playdom has handled the game by rewarding those who pay but social gamewise I like Avengers Alliance. IMO Marvel needs to put out another Ultimate Alliance game..though make it more like 1 than they did 2.

Hard to hate on nrs for me given their success. Mkdc wasnt 'god awful' it just could have been better,in fact it still did better then mvc 3 did as did mk and injustice....you want god aweful majority of spiderman games and deadpool game was crap.

I like xmen the classic arcade game but thats it, the carnage game wasnt bad but outdated so i will agree to disagree there. Give me batman and injustice any day over them but to each his own.

The only reason I prefer Marvel is because I grew up on the older Marvel games when I was young(er). Marvel, in a slight edge. There seemed to be more of a variety for Marvel games, than for DC games.

Best Marvel games are-

MvC2,UMvC3, UA 1/2, Amazing Spider-Man, Web of Shadows, Spider Man 2, and (even though I've never played it I have seen reviews) Deadpool.

DC bests are- Arkham games, Injustice, and uhhhh... Yeah that's it

Only four superhero licensed games will probably go down as gaming classics:

Marvel: Marvel Vs Capcom 2

DC: Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City and maybe Injustice.

@gambit474: Marvel's licenses are locked tight by Disney. They have their own development team and so like I said in my other post, they will never let another developer touch Marvel. Heck, they even cut Ultimate Alliance dlc early, and forced Capcom out of selling UMvC3 and MvC2 on PSN and Xbox Live. That is why there won't be an Ultimate Alliance 3. It's unfortunate, but that is Disney, whom I hate.
