@spambot: Get Carter, Zulu, Italian Job, The Man Who Would Be King, Harry Brown, Ipcress File, etc. He may have stopped doing a lot of action films but during his younger days, most of his films were considered action. Only the younger generation does not see him as an action star.

And I am gonna add more classic people. Charles Bronson, John Wayne, Lee Marvin, Errol Flynn, Humphrey Bogart, Gregory Peck, etc.

@ssejllenrad: I know he had some back in the 60's but its his entire career we are looking at here. He himself is just an actor who happened to do a few spy/action type films for a while. I suppose the same could be said of Sean Connery except that he did like 7 Bond films then did quite a few other action movies in the 80's and 90's. Some of those movies like Zulu are more historical drama than action movies as well. Even most spy movies are more drama/thriller except for Bond movies which really brought the action to the genre.

My mind says Liam Neeson (because he's still going strong) but my heart says Harrison Ford.

I believe Ford's action movies showed more versatility

@hbktimhbk: Its subjective. I just take Connery a little more seriously in his roles. Ford sometimes seems like he gets out of his depth in some roles while Connery always seems like he is in command of any role he does.

Ended up going with Liam, just because of how much I love his scenes in Batman Begins (though that probably doesn't make him a better action star).
