So I bought the book yesterday and I spent all of my time reading it and I finished it. The book was really exciting because of the twists the story had and it was really sad as well. I can't wait for the movie tomorrow. Has anybody else read it and what did you think of it?
Who has read The Hunger Games?
I loved all three books. I read them last year when I first heard they were shooting the movie and then reread them last month, can't wait to see the movie. From what I've seen from the trailers it looks like its going to be pretty accurate to the story too. Though I think she gets the pin from her sister instead of Madge.
Read the first two and currently on the third. Book one was ok, book two was a little boring, but book three seems to be going somewhere. Honestly, I don't get the hype.
Not only are children killed but it is viewed as entertainment in the Capitol. The 12 districts that the children come from are forced to watch it all on television. It is all to show the districts that the Capitol is in charge after a failed rebellion 70 something years ago. The first book is set during the 74th Hunger Games. Meanwhile people in the Capitol go to parties and vomit up food so they can eat more while in the districts many people starve to death.
I read all three books and thought they were really good. Honestly, I was a little disappointed in the ending of the third book as I thought it was leading up to something much darker than what actually happened, but it was still really good.
I'm on the last book. At the beginning I didn't think I would like the series. Now I can't put it down.
.....I feel like such a hipster lol.
I specifically dont want to read these books because everybody is jumping on the stupid bandwagon and its pissing me off. People who have never heard of the series before a couple months, or even weeks ago are claiming that its their favorite. Followers the lot of them smh.....these are also the same people posting that Kony 2012 crap on the their facebook.
Lets see what happens when the next big teenage thing comes out.......

I SAW THAT !!! I guess Madge couldn't be fit in, :/
Why can't something you just found out about a few weeks ago become your favorite? And just because lots of people are into it now doesn't diminish it's quality. Now if someone who only heard about it a few weeks ago starts going around telling people 'I can't believe you haven't read it yet' or if they lie and say 'Oh yeah I was into it before it was cool', that's annoying.@buttersdaman000 said:

The climaxes of the second and third book were a little, unexpected. I wish the second book had been longer but I think she was kinda pressured to make all three books the same length. The second one also kinda suffers from the 'second part of a trilogy syndrome' where it doesn't really end it just sets up for the third.I read all three books and thought they were really good. Honestly, I was a little disappointed in the ending of the third book as I thought it was leading up to something much darker than what actually happened, but it was still really good.
I didn't read it, my friend said it was good, but now i wont get a chance to attempt to read it. Only because the movie is coming out, why read the book when you can watch it?

That's my complaint. Apparently they wanna stretch these books in four movies. I'm not even sure if the second one is enough to be it's own movie, imo.
Read about half of the first book, realized how poor the writing was and dropped it. It's an enjoyable book but extremely overhyped.
When they make the second one into a movie I want:@PrinceIMC said:

I can see them turning the third book into two movies since lots needs to happen. Some stuff that the book itself glossed over.
I've read the first and second but have yet to read the third and there better than I expected originally I thought I'd hate them but to my surprise I did enjoy them.
