KOTOR. Nuff said.
Which video games have the best replay value?
First person shooters and rpgs
I just finished Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions and while I didn't complete every challenge I have absolutely no reason to play that game anymore...alternate costumes are worthless and without online multiplayer there's no other reason to play
with rpgs like Mass Effect you can play through again to get better armor or try different angles of the story out...this reasoning goes with MMO's as well
with first person shooters you have online multiplayer to keep you playing after beating the campaign
those are pretty much the only kind of games that I play...sports games are extremely boring for me
" KOTOR. Nuff said. "I know that I played through both games at least 4 times. One each as a guy light side, then guy dark side. Then girl light side, and girl darkside.
Besides that I would have to say Battlefront 2! I can't count the number of wasted hours my friends and I have spent on that game.
hard to say exactly and there's personal favorites and games i know are popular.
i'm working on game dev as we speak though and a little research let me know
that multiplayer options are a must, anything that can be customized and/or modded,
as the games then only limited by ones imagination, and open ended story or just
none at all. puzzle and/or thinking games i find have a good afterlife, though only
to the people that preffered them, as they usually don't really end and can be played
at ones leisure. the game type with the least replay value i find is one that's too heavily
dependant on the player unlocking game aspects. once all thats unlocked, well thats kind
of it, isn't it?
" @geraldthesloth said:My collections ridiculous." Mugen :3 "I used to love Mugen. I tried hunting down every single Marvel and DC character I could. "
" @geraldthesloth: <--- currently making X-23 for MUGEN "Really? leak the product when finished :p
Have you made any other characters?
never finished anything else no. I was working on Nightcralwer
sprites for someone else a few years ago but thats about it.
of course I'll leak it. I'll post it in the MUGEN thread when its done,
but that will be awhile as I'm filling requests for some other stuff
right now (literally, lol).
The ten-year old RPG Chrono Cross for the PS1 seems to have the best replay value (Mostly because it has multiple endings) and Modern Warfare's multiplayer is also very addictive.
here. I threw together a small preview.
bare with me though and keep in mind this is very WIP.
sorry for threadjacking Edamame, it'll be the last time, i promise.
Shooters and Fighting games without a doubt. RPGs only have replay value if you a) missed something super important the first time round, b) have infinite patience, c) absolutely adored the game.
Where something like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat just has no limit to how much you can play it.
ok for me
Nintendo Super Mario Bros 3 And Contra
Sega Street Of Rage 2 And Sonic 2
SNES Legend of Zelda an Street Fighter Turbo Plus Donkey Kong 1 2 3
Nintendo64 Goldeneye Zelda 1 an 2 an Killer Instinct
PS 1 This system has too many more than half the games are good mostly rpg for me
Xbox Halo 1 an 2 Ninja Gadien an Riddick
PS 2 God of war 1 an 2 Metal gear snake eater GT3 An GTA sand Andreas
Xbox 360 Halo 3- NInja Gadien 2- Lost Planet -Mass Effect
PS 3 God of War 3 an Metal gear 4
for PS1 try Castlevania : Symphony of the Night.
for PS2 Persona 4 has 100's of hours of play and tones of replay/new game plus values , another one would be Metal gear solid 3: snake eater.
" for PS1 try Castlevania : Symphony of the Night.I've heard good things about that game, I've been thinking about downloading for 360, would you recommend it?
" @FadeToBlackBolt: Oh definitely! :D It's a 5 out of 5 in my book, and it is THE best Castlevania game ever, definitely still one of the top games ever even after more than a decade after its release! Go get it buddy, you wont regret it! "Great, will do, thank you :)
An RPG fan, nice." Fallout 3, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and Mass Effect 1 and 2. Edit: Almost forgot Dragon Age. "
Most have been mentioned. Star Wars Battlefront 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Final Fantasy VII and VIII, Links Crossbow Training (for Wii), Any Guitar Hero game, BLACK, any Mario Bros game (super mario bros had their 25 yr anniversay the other day) Lego Batman. Countless others can think right now.
" Fable (1 &2) Just love those two games and cant wait for the third one to come out! lol "I agree. And me either ^_^
