I went with not a fan. I really enjoyed Kill Bill Volume 2, but I haven't seen anything else from him that blew me away. Admittedly, I missed Pulp Fiction and some of his other great works, but with Django for instance. I went in with high hopes since I heard so much amazing stuff, and...I found an entertaining revenge story. It was well done, but it's not something that I'm particularly psyched over. It was like an 8.5 out of ten, but people talk about it as if it is one of the best action movies of all time, and I just don't care.
Inglorious Bastards was similar. Really good reviews, and I thought it was just...okay. 7/10 maybe.
He's got style and talent in spades, but none of his work really sticks with me on an emotional level. I liked Kill Bill 2 best because it went for the slow burn and actually showed restraint. IG tried the same thing, but it was a bit too slow for my taste, and I never cared about the characters.
