For example: Scott said You're as Your in a sentence, Ariel commented back. Ariel is a grammar nazi. Here's the conversation.

Bad trolls don't really affect you, grammar nazis make personal attacks (even if you've only made a small mistake) at your English ability. There is a number of reasons up to and including learning disabilities where peoples grammar isn't good. Pretty much every instance of someone trying to correct others spelling on the internet is a user just trying to be superior.

I guess you're right in that aspect. Sometimes I can be a grammar nazi, but it's only because I'm slightly OCD. I never try to look better than somebody else.

Grammar Nazi. It doesn't prove anything knowing the difference between contractions and genitives in a conversation, but it does derail it. It's also impolite.

If you live in a country where English is the national language and you're at least in high school and you can't differentiate between "your" and "you're", it's hard for me to take you seriously.
