Mine is Michael Jackson
I cried for days
I went through a whole phase of just listening to him only
No one's. I mean I was too young for Biggie and Tupac and wasn't very appreciative of Michael Jackson's music when he died. I was too young.
I was sad when Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and most recently George Jones died.
Never got to see any of them live. =/
Tho I wasn't really born in that day in time their music had a laaarge effect on my life..
Pretty much this for me, with the exception of Bob Markey and Selena, and add Jimi Hendrix.
Beethoven.
Classic.
No pun intended :D
@eisenfauste: Sure, sure. (:P)

Uh, you guys? How can someone's death affect you if it happened before you were born?
Can't really say, because most of my favorites who are dead died before I was born or before knew who they were.
Wow, I'm old then.
Layne Staley died in 2002 (Alice in Chains/Mad Season) was bad for me, although no one was surprised by his death I was sad, his voice was just awesome.
Johnny Cash was also tough.
I was too young for Kurt Cobain, Jerry Garcia, and Bradley Nowell.
@irishx: Thats awesome, I forgot about his passing. Such a bummer. Cool you got to meet him though! Love The Doors
Michael Jackson's death affected me because of the shock and surprise of it. His life could have been saved with a chemical that could have neutralized the anesthetic in his body; instead, because of the doctor's silence, the emergency crew did not know how to administer emergency treatment to Michael Jackson. I wish he would have relied on the advice of his medical aid who was providing him with nutritional supplements to help with his sleeping problems.
Ronnie James Dio is another one, he lived in the town I'm from until he started touring all the time. So much stuff dedicated to him around here, his cousin that was in the band ELF with him and The Rods is still around here.
Tommy Ramone. He's was the last founding member of my favorite band Ramones. I didn't cry or anything but, I was pretty shocked.
Ray was 70 years old throwing his leg up on the piano like it was the 1960's again. He didn't care that it was just another of the thousands of shows he's done. He rocked like it was the performance of a lifetime. That's just the kind of true passion the man had for music and entertaining. I had him sign his book My Life with the Doors. Great read if you ever get the chance.

Their death didn't affect me since I obviously either wasn't alive or like 5 years old, they are just dead artists that have had an affect on my life in one way or another lol
None of their deaths have affected me.
Although I am tempted to start making a movie about one and then have him/her topped so there death will affect me all the way to the bank.
Aaliyah.
Me too. I just don't understand why she had to die so young. :(

Mean either. So young and full of potential...:((( *sigh*

It's a connection thing. I feel connected to Marvin Gaye music, and the tragedy of his life echoes and other things he was representating are relatable to me.
Anyway, back to the topic !
Marvin Gaye
Michael Jackson
Amy Winehouse
Whitney Houston
Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes
Aaliyah
Oliver N'goma

I guess. But deaths really do happen in a vacuum. Someone dies, there's a big deal, there's news, and there's shock. That's when a death affects someone. In that window only.
The thing you're talking about more reminds me of being affected by someone's life. Not death. That it went in the arc it did and ended the way it did.
That's my thinking, at least.
John Lennon.
Happened sixteen years before my birth, but during my introduction to the Beatles, their music helped me through alot of rough times.
Through reading his biographies and listening his music, it dawned on me that this man will never put out more music, and I will never habe a chance to meet him. I felt kind of awful. It was the only death of a celebrity that really actually had any impact on me.
